Were the Ryder triplets ever NOT in the middle of every single mess? No, no they weren’t. But they were pretty darn cute as kiddos.
From left to right: Veronica, Star, and Scott (pre-transition), on their tenth birthday
(Star uses they/them pronouns)
Ducking around on that faceapp thing and I discovered 2 things 1. It doesn't work well with 3/4 profiles 2. Super feminine Veronica looks like Jennifer Lawrence
More personality things I’ve learned about Veronica: She DOES have a temper when riled, but usually is able to keep her cool and retain an objective, professional attitude when needed. When relaxed, or among people she’s close to, she slips into casual and often dry humor However, if something strikes close to home, or particularly unnerves her (such as the vivisections on the Salarians, or witnessing an exaltation up close, or suddenly having the Archon in her face, or Scott’s kidnapping), at that point she loses her cool more easily. Accompanied by swears in at least four languages, she gets aggressive and passionate, setting aside professionalism for the sake of getting shit done. (I’m reminded of my favorite line I’ve come across so far: “Except I am gonna fuck your shit up. How’s THAT for great?”) When things calm down, though, or when a friend needs comfort, she’s there with heartfelt advice and a shoulder to lean on
Some choice shots from the final battle with the Archon feat Scott in pain, also Veronica being a badass against an architect

For mea questions - 9 and 18?
9. What’s their favorite memory they have of their sibling? Of their parents?
Unfortunately, Veronica’s homelife was fairly lonely. With both parents being incredibly busy with their jobs, especially Alec, it was usually just her and Scott. The two balance each other out; Scott is reckless but keeps an even head under pressure, where Veronica is more logical and cautious, but has a viscous temper when provoked. The twins got into a lot of trouble together, the most memorable memory of which is when they were barely 16.Their mother had died only months before, and news of their father’s work with AI had gotten out. With their family name in tatters, along with their hopes of someday being N7s theirselves, the twins went out for a (very illegal) drink at a seedy krogan bar to get their minds off things. Someone (a salarian? Human? Veronica can’t even remember) started blustering loudly to them about what a failure Alec is. Veronica was mad, but held her tongue when Scott urged her not to lose her cool. She managed it until the drunkard slurred that their mom probably died because of the AI work. At this point, Scott basically shrugged and gave up on keeping Veronica calm. The bar fight resulted in Veronica’s left arm being broken, a scar on her chin from a krogan’s fist, the scattered scars on the left side of Scott’s face from being knocked onto a shattered bottle, one of his fingers being broken, and a lifetime ban from the little bar. Alec was considerably less than pleased, but the experience helped reassure the twins that no matter what life threw at them, they always had each other’s backs.
As far as favorite memories with her parents, family dinners were few and far between. Mostly they were hastily eaten protein packs while cramming for exams, or practicing with a rifle. But once a month, the family made every effort to spend at least one whole day together in the Citadel’s garden area. No research, no alliance entrance exam studying, no N7 business. Just family. One such trip, when the twins were 11, ended in Alec accidentally bumping into a bush that had a small behive growing in it. (How bees got on the Citadel, nobody knows, or will admit). The day ended with Alec being escorted to medical for an epinephrine shot despite his slurred reassurances that he was fine, after he ran for it. The bees were quicker, something his N7 companions were quick to tease about. Despite the brief worry about his bee allergy, which had been passed to Veronica, the sight of the man she’d always idolized running like hell from a swarm of bees always made her chuckle.
18. What does Ryder do in their spare time? What are their hobbies and interests? Do they share these with their friends, or are they more private?
Veronica loves rock-climbing, casually and competitively. Her childhood was spent challenging Scott to race her, or to stop fiddling with his model spaceships and to time her ascent. Her companions figure this out when they come across a cliff that’s “too steep to climb” according to Cora, but instead of turning away, Veronica starts scaling it.But when it’s time for some cool down, or just to spend some quiet time alone, you can catch her doing some loose yoga poses. You have to be very special to find out, but Veronica is all kinds of flexible.
(Thanks so much for the ask!!)
