Nightingale Prep wasn’t a place Chessie had hoped to find herself in again, but in some strange way -- She felt obligated to show up to the charity event. It was Celia’s last hurrah, and even if she didn’t like the other woman, after spending a week with Monty, she felt it necessary to show up. Freezing rain didn’t make the blast from the past any easier, given that she couldn’t sneak outside for a cigarette. The open bar was something she wanted to welcome with open arms, but given that Chessie was still in the midst of making herself ‘brand friendly’ for FREYA, she was hesitant to start drinking vodka sodas.
.... There couldn’t be much harm in one drink, could there? After a brief hesitation, she caved, finding herself with a drink in hand, sitting atop a table in the cafeteria. This was all giving her deja vu, plenty of memories she enjoyed and more she didn’t want to revisit. “At least Celia had the right idea about this -- If we’re going to stay over night here, there better be a bar.” Chessie begins easily, a slightly bitter laugh on her lips, before holding her glass up. “Cheers.”
It is no mystery that not every one in New York City has the luxury of coming home to a bed at night, to having a roof over their head, or a warm meal waiting for them. And in the season of giving, Nightingale Prep will be doing just that -- This year will be the first an annual Alumni Lock-In. On the evening of DECEMBER 1ST, Nightingale Prep will open it’s doors to former students, and will be unlocking them once the sun rises. Bunk beds courtesy of Bergdorf Goodman, will be set up in class rooms across the school, with silent auctions and live music going on in the gymnasium, as well as catering by Howl and an open bar provided in the cafeteria. All former Nightingale students are invited, and encouraged, to attend. All proceeds from this event will go to the newly created Nightingale Foundation, to help fight homelessness in this great city. An idea spearheaded by Celia Santos, a former Alumni Board member and graduate of Nightingale, the board will be following through with her event, despite recent tragic events. A third of all proceeds from this event will go towards any funeral expense the Santos family finds themselves riddled with.

Surprise, surprise. Here we go again. Lucky number five is kicking off in the best way possible -- Locking up all of these grieving and complicated characters with nearly all the people everyone wants to avoid. Sounds like it’ll be a smooth evening, right? Basically, this event will be like a traditional high school lock-in. Except for the added components that come from being part of the Upper East Side. For those of you who are unfamiliar -- It’s essentially like a giant sleepover. Everyone should pack a bag, and show up in their pajamas. This event will begin on DECEMBER 1ST at 8 PM EST, and will be going on until DECEMBER 6TH, at MIDNIGHT EST. (IE: Through the end of Wednesday, December 5th) I’m extending the real life time of this event, to ensure everyone is able to be part of it, despite time zones, work schedules, and social lives. All characters should be in attendance, hopefully the extended timing for this event will give everyone a chance to get in on the action. After the end of this event, I would love to hear all of your feedback regarding the extended time, and if you feel it helped with your ability to plot and get threads moving.
All posts for this event should be tagged with #VERPEVENT5. At this time, there will not be a plot drop during this event -- But we all know Gossip Girl will be keeping a watchful eye. Have a question? Feel free to send it in.
She was drunk, in the simplest of terms. Nothing unmanageable -- Just enough passed buzzed to get her through the night, loosen her up enough to enjoy the evening rather than dread it. Plus, the liquor was keeping her warmer than her Bama sweater was. There was no harm in it, as far as Chessie saw it -- Which prompted her to return to the bar for another double vodka soda, eyebrows lifting at the sight of Quinn standing next to her. “Well, well, well,” She began with a grin on her lips, genuinely surprised to see someone like Quinn at the bar with her, even if there last conversation had been just the same. Chessie considered the last time they saw one another as a fluke. Tonight was different, especially with her being drunk herself. “And here I thought you’d be scolding everyone getting drunk tonight, Q.” She continued, propping an elbow on the bar, chin in hand as she waited for his response.
