i don’t have much on dalmar yet as i am still figuring him out but what i do have so far is that:

- he is the eldest sibling of his family and most likely a favourite nephew of the king ( subject to change upon more plotting when we get a king )

- being the eldest, a lot of burdens, responsibilities & duties were placed upon him eversince from a young age. his parents continuously stressed on how important his role was as the future duke for he would be responsible for the lives of many people who lived in his regions and that no matter what happens or whatever it took, he must at all costs, protect the family’s honour & reputation, bring further glory to their image and never to let it be tarnished if he could help it. and then there was also his duty as a filial son, loving brother and a loyal subject to his uncle & aunt. so many obligations and things to live up to, it was little wonder that Dalmar did not enjoy much of a chlldhood and was already training and studying hard from a tender age. 

- as a result, he matured up fast too & became a bit too serious & solemn for his age. he was always careful, always observant and very meticulous in everything he did. he did not have the freedom of making any major mistakes. ‘you must be an example’ his tough-love parents always told him. 

- And so he strived his very best. To never put a toe out of line, to be the best there was so that his parents could be proud of him and to honor his entire family lines. he knew his parents did genuinely care for him and spared no expense for his knowledge, quality of care and with his naturally fillial nature, he felt it was definitely his duty to to fulfill everything expected of him. as a result for being such a fine son, he was allowed more freedom to explore his own researches and to travel where he pleased. however he always struggled to find spare time for his own personal indulgences and hobbies for he placed everyone else & including his own country’s needs first before his own. Always.

- He grew up to be a highly respected and more than dependable man as a result. Sedate in mannerisms but highly principled. Impeccable manners, a more quiet demeanour but sharply keen-eyed. Tactful and strategically precise- he knew exactly when to act and when not to. 

-He had a great talent for mathematics, almost a genius in it and highly excelled in the field of economics & accounting. Making him a great minister of economics & finance in his uncle’s council. That also makes him a very logical-minded and pragmatic and,  sadly not much of a risk-taker. 

- He is insanely loyal to his family & country and would do anything to protect their welfare and their honourable image. ( if this was the modern century, he would also be a great pr manager too XD ) He has also long harnessed and diligently mastered his talents so that he can easily fight to protect all of his loved ones.

- Due to him being able to discipline himself extremely well, it is quite easy for him to silently judge people sometimes when they commit certain things that he finds falls under the category of laziness / irresponsiblity/ recklessness / dishonesty, etc...- that is quite a major shortcoming of his that he is still unable to stop himself from doing. 

- His parents were a love match. Seeing them sharing so many sweet, highly romantic, tender and affectionate moments with each other, made him yearn greatly to find his own romantic soulmate too. Even when his first love, broke his heart quite callously, he still held onto hope that maybe he still had not yet found the one. However all hope seemed to fly out of the window, upon the declaration of the Sun King and despite his crestfallen dreams, he pushed himself to go through with the whole arrangement. After all, duty must always come first.

- oh right before i forget, dalmar is also incredibly kind and will do everything he can to help those who need it. he can also be gentle and be very thoughtful as he wants to see those he cares for happy, safe and well taken care of.

the youngest child born to the highly renowned, imposing, scheming and powerful duke of ( tba ) of france, wen fei has always tried their best to fulfil everyone’s expectations of them but it seems that they always keeps falling short no matter how much they try. they were actually painfully shy as a kid, but through lots of hard work and forcing themselves till they had bad inner anxiety, they eventually managed to make it seem like they were more than fine with socializing and approaching people all for the sake of pleasing their parents, family and fulfilling their plans.  in truth however , wen fei really gets nervous about being the one to initiate a conversation or approaching ppl first, so there are times when they stumble over their words or is very awkward in keeping up the flow of the conversation. if it’s with a horribly intimidating person or like a karen, she can get tongue-tied.

she can be quite clumsy sometimes, and miserably has two left feet when it comes to dancing. she absolutely struggles with following, remembering and then executing the dance steps well, as she really isn’t that flexible or graceful.

when it comes to learning her studies and nailing down all the duties expected of her, she does it decently well , but it was never good enough for her parents who expected her to be as brilliant at all her tasks like her older siblings.

however, what her parents don’t really know of, is that she is terribly talented with doing creative work that involves her bare hands. secret hobbies that she has cultivated over the years has made her an expertly skilled with woodcrafting, pottery work, , tending to all sorts of animals, especially falconry, and sculpting. she actually has a secret art gallery of sorts, hidden within an estate of one of her closest best friends,  which is only known by a select few. one of her fav hobbies is also horse-riding and she is so smooth & naturally in-tune with horses that she can actually ride them bareback, despite her originally clumsy nature.

she is also quite naive, gullible, timid , hates confrontations , but has an extremely big compassionate  heart and adores children so much. one of her biggest dreams is to be a mother to many adorable children. she actually,  can be quite naturally funny  and teasing if she gets comfortable enough with you.

during the war times, she spent of her days ( even when she wasn’t allowed to ) at either foundling homes, or among the poorest streets of Paris or her home city, trying to rescue and care for forsaken and orphaned children and babes. finally, after much, much persuasion and help from a couple of her siblings and mother, her father thus gave permission to invest in wen fei’s foundling and orphan hospitals ( she made a few ) to further give the much needed care and medical aid, in where Wen Fei was on active duty both as an overseer and healer, exhausting her Sun Sage talents on the daily but with so much tenderness and love. 

the moment she was told that she was betrothed to a prince, wen fei, froze in fright and spent days in an anxious wreck over it. where marriage was concerned, wen fei knew that one day her father would be the one arranging her marriage for her, but she had with the deepest hope, prayed that it would be to a noble of a much lower rank than her father. that way, she might possibly have more chances to escape the snobbish scrutiny of shallow nobility as well as be not required to attend many societal balls, parties and events. wen fei was even quite certain that her father who had always expressed his disappointment in the ‘many shortcomings’ of his youngest, was not even bothered to try to obtain a high ranking match for her. she would be an afterthought, which suited her just fine. However, it would seem that her hopes turned into dust when she found out that the Sun King had arranged her union to a prince of the Josean Dynasty. A royal foreign court?? Could she rise to the challenge? According to many stuffy aristocrats, she floundered at being a duke’s daughter, thus, what kind of spectacle would she make at being a princess of a country which cultures she was very barely accquianted with? 

Despite their shaking fears within them that arose every now and then when the time drew nearer and nearer to meet their betrothed, wen fei’s naturally sweet, understanding, pleasant , sunny and  sincere nature couldn’t help but still try her best to remain optimistic about their future. Maybe if they worked extra , extra hard enough, they made be able to please their husband and his court slowly but surely enough so as to not embarrass him and her family name. Maybe they could still have a chance to survive as so far, they had not heard much bad publicity about him, though truth be told, there wasn’t much news that she could gleam about her future family due to the occupation of the Mughal Empire over their country for so many years. At that, her tender heart went out sincerely to their struggling misfortune and with that, she also started to include them in her nightly prayers. That they may rebuild well and smoothly and find true freedom and revel in spirited independence after all these years. She did not expect nor dared dream of romance in her marriage but she did pray that at least, her marriage could have a working friendship and amicable partnership of sorts at the very least.

she’s the fire in the sin, and i burn breathing her in. 

the valois family’s power has a clear line going back generations at a time. often times they act as advisors or confidants to the french royal family, known for their listening ears, intelligent thoughts and kind smiles. her father in particular proved himself to be of great importance to the last sun king before his death and he was quite taken with young manon as well. 

the eldest child of two, manon feels a strong pull to protect her younger brother ( wanted connection ). even if she’s proven herself to be the quieter of the two children, her younger sibling is her her soft spot and has proven to bring out a different side of her time and time again. 

manon’s parents also discovered that she had a talent for the arts very early on and clearly enjoyed it, so they got access to the best necessities that money could buy. for hours, the young woman would shut herself away in her quarters creating work that she was proud of. even now, she feels more comfortable surrounded by art than people. 

not only does she find comfort in the arts, but she also finds a lot of comfort in literature.

when she was very young, she lost her father. her mother became quite distant, overwhelmed by her grief after losing the man she loved. even though manon took on many of the valois house responsibilities during that time, she wanted a love like her mother had with her father. one that transcended even death. 

it was because of this love, as the story goes that manon’s mother passed within weeks of her father: so overwhelmed by grief that she could not exist in a world without him. at least, that is how the story goes. it’s not 100% believable.

it was then that manon was given the title of duchess, alongside control over her father’s finances, a task she shared with her brother.

the more time she spent at the palace, the more visions she began to see. having a sun priestess in their midst would prove very valuable to the french court and before long, manon had permanent residence within the court and has since served the sun king and his family.

she does not agree with the sun king’s choice to expose the alter, specifically because if the magic falls into the wrong hands it could bring danger to the country. this has certainly caused some tension between herself and the royal court, but she pledged to serve her country and does not plan on breaking it.

manon is a bit softer spoken, tending to stray from most conversations that cause her fear or stress. she is kind to all, a trait that has proven to hurt her or cause people to take advantage of her.

her betrothal to the earl, like most of the nobles, it not one she is simply accepting. just as she did when she was a child, she dreams of falling in love organically and has fought being married off since it became a duty in her life. 

at the moment, she’s closely observing the new faces: certainly terrified that there’s some kind of danger brewing. she has felt a presence in her readings that has felt.. rather dark so her usually distrusting nature has been heightened even further. 

her loyalty lies with the french, always. perhaps she’ll learn to be loyal to her betrothed’s country overtime.

but you know what they say about me, that girl is a problem.

veronika is the second-born within the russian empire, after her brother: demitri. she was always an exuberant child and made it very clear from an early age: she had a very loud voice and she was going to use it. as opinionated as she was even early on, her charming personality won over the hearts of nobles and russian citizens alike. 

as a child, her parents seemed to be more focused on the first-born heir than their daughter, leaving her to her own devices. she was put under the care of a governess, someone who to this day she still trusts implicitly ( maybe a wc at some point? )

in all honesty, the younger romanov doesn’t carry any distain for the fact that she doesn’t have the throne and might not for a very long time. unlike many it’s not power that drives her, but a life that feels fulfilling. even if to others she’s seen as the rebel child, it doesn’t matter. she’s enjoying herself. 

much like many of the royalty, she hates the idea of being married off to someone that she doesn’t even love. even if she could come to love her betrothed, she would much rather fall in love organically. although she knows this is something that cannot be, she will fight it for as long as she can.

not only is she opinionated, but she’s intelligent about it too. she excelled in her studies, particularly languages. her interest has allowed her to be fluent in several and a useful tool in diplomacy. 

this hasn’t stopped her reputation from following her wherever she goes. not like she really cares. 

the only reason why she’s here is for the good of her country. perhaps that’s the first time she’s ever acted under such a mindset, but it doesn’t erase that. besides, there’s still some fun to be had here. plenty of people to mess with like her playthings within the russian nobility. 

now that she has met her supposed betrothed, she isn’t quite sure about how she feels about him yet. only time will tell, but who knows. maybe there’s some good that could come out of this mess. 

veronika keeps a very small circle of people that she implicitly trusts. if you are in that circle, she will use every arsenal she has to protect you. betray her.. lets hope you never get there. veronika doesn’t have room or time for those who shatter her trust and she will not hesitate to engage in measures that will ruin your life. 

definitely the definition of a spitfire. she does not care if her mouth is unladylike, it gets her the attention of those in the room. 

for now, her relationship with her betrothed is a bit biting. it is clear that she wants out, but it is up to player how they feel about it. for now, her betrothed struggles with getting through to her and making her feel comfortable around them. her biggest fear, after all, is being tied down and being forced into a life that she does not feel is fitting for her. she is, after all, the furthest thing possible from a 1700s princess. 

healing is perhaps the thing that makes her feel the most whole. knowing she can help someone/make things better for others is something that she’s extremely passionate about, even if she does not take the time to talk about it. she’d rather keep it to herself.

look at what you’ve done, that girl is a gun. 

from the very beginning, it seemed that phillipa haas was destined to command the forces of austria, just as her father did before her. many saw her as a meek little girl who’d go on to serve the queen as a lady. she grew up amongst the nobles and was adored by many of them, who protected her as if she was their own sister, or their own child. some of the best moments of her life were running through the gardens, the only times she ever felt truly free. 

her father ran the family home like any general would run a military base and while he loved his children: nothing they did ever really seemed good enough for him. at least, not to phillipa. as the middle child she certainly felt overlooked and each of her sisters had their talents that made them special. she did not. 

little did the nobility know, she didn’t need their protection. after insisting that she join the ranks of the king’s army, it didn’t take long for her to prove just how strong she was and not only was she well liked for her good and noble heart: she was respected. her father throughout was beaming with pride. phillipa haas had found her gift. 

not only is she quite the fighter, but she is also quite the scholar. a lover of learning, she has an extensive collection of scholarly work that she flips through on a regular basis.  

her father’s death came as a shock to the nation, one that happened rather suddenly. the king came to a decision, while controversial, was understood: a man with a legacy of edgar haas could only be followed by family. and edgar did not have any sons, only daughters (phillipa has two sisters: wanted connections), and one of them could fight better than any of the others in his arsenal. phillipa. 

she became general when she was in her late twenties and has been serving in the position for about four years now. it is something she takes great pride in and she demands that she never falter. she puts such a demand for perfection on herself that failure to her would be seen as a sign of weakness. 

throughout her life, phillipa found herself having many who loved her and whom she cared for, but no one she completely trusted. that was, until she met prince anton. while they butted heads when they were younger, the two are rarely without each other and he is the one person she will trust without any sort of question. 

while phillipa is extremely well-equipped as a fighter and there’s nothing quiet about the way she kicks some serious ass, her overall demeanor is a bit more on the quieter side and can often be taken as gruff. while she keeps quiet, it’s to ensure her status under the radar and she knows more than people think. 

while some insist upon others knowing their successes, phillipa remains quite humble with her eyes constantly on the next task and the only ongoing task at hand: protecting the people she swore to serve. 

she spent many years striving towards becoming a general, and spent most of her life so focused on her own goals that she never even saw betrothal coming. phillipa has spent decades relying only on herself and sees the prospect of becoming a wife as a definitive burden. weather her betrothed intends on trying to change her mind is completely up to him, but she does see the benefit in joining their forces. two generals, married? that’s quite the team all in itself. 

while she has the heart of a fighter, she has the mind and mouth of a diplomat. she often finds herself in conversations inserting her opinion on what she thinks would be the best for the country. 

even though she’d never show it, a lack of order in her life terrifies her and she will do everything she can to neutralize such an issue.

Backstory

Naotomo started his life with immense expectations on him. The first child and son of the flower shogun and his beautiful wife, the heir to centuries of history and power. 

Even as a child, he felt this weight on him though his mother tried to balance it with her love. He grew with a strict schedule, strict training and an even stricter clan. Every mistake watched and corrected with disappointment and even more demands. There was no wonder that when Naotomo reached  adolescence he started to rebel.

 From starting fights in the streets to enjoying the company of criminals, every step he took only brought him further and further away from what he truly wanted. His father’s approval. 

But their relationship only got worse, and when Naotomo’s mother passed, it proved a breaking point. He knew his father was ready to take away his title and place in the family to save the Tokugawa clan more shame, so instead of fighting it, he left before it could happen. 

Naotomo put on the facade of a ronin, a wandering warrior without a master and left Japan, convinced that he would never go back. 

This conviction lasted quite a while, the thought of running back only bolstering his need to do the exact opposite. He traveled many of the kingdoms and empires that laid near Japan and all along gaining the experience he needed to realize his mistakes. 

When his father’s messengers found him, he had grown out of his rebellious youth to someone just a little more wiser. Though their request to come back to Japan still triggered some lingering childish stubbornness, he came back. Hoping that while he was learning about the world, his father learned that putting an adults worth of responsibilities on a child was dangerous. 

Their first reunion proved...productive and Naotomo realized how much he had missed about his father when he was young. Maybe it was Naotomo who was wrong. This realization meant when the flower shogun brought up the betrothal, Naotomo did not cause ...to much of a fuss. 

Naotomo still has issues with his clan and his father, but he is ready to learn what it means to be the shogun’s son once again. Maybe he can change more than he thought he could.

- he was always a very soft hearted boy growing up & a sensitive, emphathetic soul. very in touch with his emotions and the emotions of others around him and he is highly expressive with his reactions to things. 

-  THE BIGGEST BOOKWORM EVER! his appetite for books, history, manuscripts, ect was insatiable. It slowly lead to him finding his fav genre of all and something that he believed embodifies him the most , & that was romanticism.  ( obviously this era was not introduced till the 1800's onwards so he was kind of a forward thinker in that sense ) basically any creative work that was birthed from true natural emotions and indivualism. not bound by any sort of limitations, regulations, conventionalism, etc. - it pretty much reflected who albert was - not yr typical 1700's prince but an individual who loved to quietly observe , analyse , form his own unique perspective of things, was pretty absent-minded half the time, had his head in the clouds , not really thinking much bout the present or daily little problems. he loved to write, journal and create poems. loved singing and had a golden voice for it. 

 - he heartily disliked all the restrictions & limitations that were placed on the royals, how his whole life had to be dictataed out for him, the burden of royal duties and responsibilities, the rigidity of schedules but most of all he hated greed, power and the war that was influenced by those ugly traits of men. 

 - however since resisting things only made things more tense & aggravating and being quite the pacifist, he reluctantly caved in most of the time to what was asked of him. it acually did more harm than good as his heart & mind wasn't in it & mainly his focus could easily be distracted by any creative idea floating to his head, resulting in him making all sorts of errors and mistakes in his tasks as well as a penchant for being clumsy and accidentally breaking or ruining things. 

 - he loved to find chances to escape whenever he could, nature being one of his favourite havens to be in , where he could just sit & read or write for hours .

- HOPELESS ROMANTIC TO THE BONE. So when he met & fell for Ece , he fell hard, fast , giddily and passionately in love. 

- Thus, when she suddenly broke of all contact with him , he was utterly depressed, hurt and confused. Before finally guessing that most likely the worst had happened to her. Which just left him feeling half empty and a shell of himself. 

 - His current arranged marriage is a deal he abhors very much and the one thing his soul cannot accept. So thus for the first time in his life, this would be something where he really would not back down from fighting against.

Backstory

Mahire was first daughter to Lady and General Khanum and a welcome addition she was. Already having two boisterous and healthy sons, they wanted a sweet girl to continue their growing family. 

And this is what Mahire proved to be, sweet to a fault and always wanting to please her family with her cute antics. She was raised very similarly to her brothers, religion in the morning, tutors in the afternoon and training of their magic and bodies during the early evening. She grew to be a very healthy young girl and excited for the larger world that existed outside her family’s estate.

So around the age of 16, Mahire was sent to the capital city of the empire to extend her education and experience more of the world. 

Around the age of 20, she was chosen to become one of the ladies of the court, to serve one of the princess or royal cousins that lived there. This proved to be one of the harder parts of her life as she was far from any family, she had learn the strict etiquettes of the court which made her feel inelegant and clumsy, and the position of lady in waiting proved to be more competitive than she imagined.

But she stayed strong and worked to prove herself, even becoming a skilled fire blade with the teachings of the court tutors, and eventually she was chosen to become the princess do-yun’s lady in waiting.

She has enjoyed her position and relationship with the princess, and did not find herself ambitious to anymore than what she had, even if her family wished for more for her. So it was a surprise when the words of the sun king entered the imperial court.
