He’s a paladin because of course he is. He travels with the Warrior of Light. He goes to the Steppe and bros down with Hien. He gets taken the First during the Ghimlyet Dark and spends the year as a Crystarium Guard because honestly it’s Comforting, and he decks the Exarch when he finds out the Light is killing the Warrior of Light*.
