so those invincible episodes huh.

i haven't READ the comics, but i spoiled myself on. so much of it. and i already knew about radcliffe and what he's done and all that(literally. taro's project was from the radcliffe era of gda, just kinda carried over till taro got out). but god. the entire second episode. made me crazy. and i'm gonna be so insane about it. it also makes me think of. how invincible verse is one of the only verses where taro has a semi-decent relationship with the organization that made them. taro is Okay with being around the gda, in part because of cecil being -- not the worst??? and they know what gda can be at their worst because that's why they were made. there was a line from eve in episode 2(?) i think that was literally. cecil was the one guy from gda that wasn't a piece of shit. is taro still suspicious as fuck of the gda? aBSOLUTELY. they can see the whiteroom given their abilities, they can see what's being done. but there is a sense of trust they have that the gda--under cecil--won't go that far again. that's what they want to believe. also thinking about it. especially in context of taro being a weapon from the gda,,, and also just. oliver and taro handshaking on so many things in the way of like...

taro adapts to the people around them. and taro doesn't. necessarily even Have an opinion of their own. how they think, how they act, how they do things can change from person to person that they're around because they want to adapt and adjust and fix problems the best way they can. they need people to trust them, so they will become to kind of person that is trustworthy to each individual person. but it also comes with this almost naivety in how they think of morals and ethics. taro can't be traumatized, not in the sense of how people with emotions are. traumatic memories are just another memory to be stored and used for it's usefulness/experience. it does not carry anymore weight than any other memory. so if they, say, kill someone; they won't necessarily see it as a bad thing unless a bunch of people go HEY THAT'S A BAD THING. and then suddenly it's like. oh. readjusting for when i talk to these people, but everyone else and those that see it as 'okay' will get a different response.

it just. makes me insane. it's similar but different and it makes me crazy. invincible makes me crazy. invincible verse taro makes me crazy :)

you just needed to get a little closer, you just needed to see how she did it--was it similar to how you bent photons? were the circumstances similar as well? you were tempted to try to start digging into the gda more, try to find more--you knew they had at least a little information on almost every hero, and villain for that matter. but you also didn't want to push too hard with them, you were treading on a thin line enough.

invincible verse is pretty much Just their main verse. it fits extremely well and the origin is the same.

that being said the exacts were that the shadow-light experiments were ordered by erickson, similar to what occurred with phase one. however, even after erickson was fired these experiments continued. this was because even though it was morally atrocious--given all but one attempt died--there were still advancements because of it. it was actually taro's escape that gave a reason to stop it. didn't want another liability to the heinous experiments to escape.

not a nightmare. at least taro didn't think that's what it was. nightmares didn't exist for them, experiences in terms of sounds. could dreams be made entirely of sounds? waking up after the sound of flesh against blade mimicked from their throat. they didn't even intend to do it. in their sleep, they heard the sound of a scalpel sharpening and the sounds they refused to make. the cries that nobody ever heard.

they didn't want to be seen, they didn't want to be known. in the waking world, their eyes fluttered open, closing and opening. gaze turning to look at eve, blinking again.

" oh...um...no. i didn't. " they coughed out the words, covering their mouth briefly with their hand. the crystals on their palms poking into their lips and cheeks.

" i don't dream- or have nightmares, i guess- sorry, if i woke you up... "

a shake of their head and a turn to the side, then down--looking away.
