CRYSTAL PALACE + THE VERTIGO EFFECT
«Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo introduced an iconic visual technique called the dolly zoom, which is used widely in psychological thrillers and horror films today.
Also known as the Vertigo Effect, this special camera maneuver involves moving the camera on a dolly while simultaneously zooming in or out to create a jarring, distorted sense of perspective.
The Vertigo Effect creates a dizzying sense of disorientation to make the audience feel the same fear, unease and turmoil as James Stewart’s character, Scottie, as his sense of control begins to unravel.»
