                   frankly, he’d forgotten he’d even told mista what his birthday was -- it must have been passing conversation, something that didn’t even linger in his mind -- since they’d moved in together, there had been hundreds of conversations shared in the walls of that small apartment. so he’s surprised in a series -- first that he’s hugged ( though, to be fair, he’s getting used to that with mista around ), and secondly that there were well wishes. 

                   and then -- there’s lips against his cheek and they’re warm and soft and he feels red heat him instantly. cheeks and ears flush, eyes widen -- heart, he dare admit, skips a beat. 

                   ‘ i -- ’ he knows better to respond until he collects himself, so there’s a moment of pause before he finishes. ‘ -- didn’t think you’d remember. thank you, mista. ’
