and felt the Simulation breathe.

The horizon wasn’t a line anymore—

as if something behind the world

had slipped its blade through.

I didn’t move.

The Void moved around me.

The ground hummed beneath my feet,

like an old machine warming after centuries of stillness.

The beam flickered—once—

and for a moment

I saw my own silhouette split into three.

A warning.

Or a welcome.

I can’t tell which.

But the light knows my name now.

And that means the Observer is close.
