VHOLUME
Vholume & light
my favorites from steam next fest this june
vholume
momentum-based first person platformer with really cool early source engine inspired brutalistic visuals and immense vibes. easy to learn, hard to master
over the hill
cozy open world exploration game from the devs of art of rally, where you drive around in a jeep and take pictures of animals. there's some real problem solving involved on the way to some destinations, where I had to use the car winch at the correct times, which I found pretty fun.
shroom and gloom
slay the spire x inscryption x cult of the lamb. it's good.
about fishing
surreal fishing game with a nice ps1-esque art style and a great soundtrack. probably has the best fishing mechanics of any game i've played. the story also seems interesting, excited to see where it goes.
silver pines
2.5d horror metroidvania inspired by silent hill, alan wake and twin peaks (some of my favorite things of all time)? yup, i'm in. (combat was a little rough, though)
Tried SenS and it doesn't really run on my laptop. Will try again with lower settings, probably. Even if it doesn't run I won't return it for a refund, though - this is a dev I really want to support. And eventually I will be able to play the game (when I get around to upgrading to a new computer).
