I had to store a portion of my VHS collection at my parent’s farm. The brown shelf is all documentaries and mostly everything in the white shelves are clamshells/kids which is good when kids come over, they can pull a classic off the shelf. The reality out there right now is that the internet is complete shit which is weird because when they first got it out there, it was turbo speed. Internet company changed their technology and started charging for data usage. My parents can’t even watch Netflix after paying for more and more to up the data and speed over the years, it’s gotten slower. I’ve been giving them VHS movies that I think they would like, they’ve been back to just playing VHS. No internet needed! They like that. So there’s something to be said for that. This also helps me in a big way because I really need the extra space in my small apartment. Now have I watched all these docs?.. No, but all the documentaries have been captured and backed up on a drive so I can still watch them whenever I please. Although, I do prefer to watch the original tape og style. This is what being a collector is all about I guess. It also makes me feel good knowing that this is in my old room where I grew up. Although it didn’t have the sweet wood paneling walls like it does now. #vhscollecting #vhscollector #vhsstorage #vhsdocs #vhsclamshell #vhs https://www.instagram.com/p/B3yqI71FU8k/?igshid=12qho7y1isw9a
