I have been listening to this song a lot as I decide to make a huge life decision and move back home. I have always felt such a strong emotional connection to Kristin Hersh and this song. She hasn't played this song live in a decade, easily. And she played it last night. Here's the video of that performance because it's too fragile and beautiful not to share, and it completely summarizes my life right now.
@Forry, one of my favorites.
The Gravity of the Situation - Hootie and the Blowfish cover of Vic Chestnutt sung song. "Written by Rob Veal"
Patterson Hood & The Downtown Rumblers- Come Back Little Star

Play some really depressing songs to myself? Don't mind if I do.
Like A Monkey In A Zoo- Vic Chestnut (Daniel Johnston cover)
New Music: Demons by Cowboy Junkies
THE GIST: Excellent covers of Vic Chestnut songs by legendary Canadian band. Smoky and slinky, but not in any way languid, wistful without being sappy.
EARWURMS: All songs work in their own little ways. It's Vic Chestnut covered by the Cowboy Junkies! Although, if I had to pick one song, my absolute favorite is "I'll See You Around." It's just marvelous - it captures the heartbreak of a failed relationship but is not bitter in any way, but actually kind of hopeful.
