Tagging: @specialagentsoftie (Click here or send an ask to be added to my taglist. Station 19 currently isn’t on the list, but will be added too)
Notes: First, I feel really weird using lgbtq+ relationships as a warning, but I received an ask to have it tagged. Second, I’m really sorry this wasn’t posted on the correct day. I had a busy weekend and I’m still not right in my head and body. I’ve booked the rest of the year off to take better care of myself (I did 8 loads of laundry today).
“Miller, we gotta go,” Vic yelled, grabbing Pru’s diaper bag and coat, “we have to drop Pru off before shift.”
“Coming, coming,” Dean announced, throwing his shirt on.
“Let’s go!”
Moving in with Dean was probably one of the best decisions Vic ever made, both for her and for Dean and Pru. She kept Dean on time and he seemed happier since she moved in.
Dean and Vic left the houseboat and locked the door.
“We-,” Vic started.
“We forgot the baby,” Dean finished.
Dean rushed back in the houseboat to grab Pru, leaving Vic to bite her lip to keep from laughing.
—
At the station, Vic walked in on Dean bench pressing.
“Damn Miller, benchin’ a few extra pounds today?” Vic laughed.
Dean put the weights down and sat up.
“Oh, y’know maybe a few extra pounds, just to keep these guns in shape,” Dean replied.
Vic and Dean started laughing. He stood up and beside Vic, looking in the mirror. Vic admired Dean’s muscles.
Dean’s phone started to ring in his pocket.
“Hello, this is Dean,” he said.
“Hello, this is Sarah from Pru’s daycare. Pru slid in the ice in the outdoor play area,” the daycare worker told Dean over speakerphone.
“Is she hurt? Is she okay?”
“She has a large cut on her face and we think she may have broken her arm. We’ve called an ambulance and the ambulance is taking her to Grey Sloan Mem-.”
“I’ll meet the ambulance there.”
Dean started running towards his car.
“I’ll come with you, I’ll call Maya on the way,” Vic offered.
Dean nodded and Vic ran behind. Buckling her seatbelt, Vic was already on the phone with Maya.
“Hughes, where are you?” Maya answered.
“Miller and I are headed to Grey Sloan. Pru took a slipped at daycare,” Vic told her.
“Ok. Keep me updated.”
“Thanks Maya.”
Arriving at Grey Sloan, they saw paramedics unloading Pru from the ambulance.
Dean and Vic rushed over, walking beside the gurney, into the trauma room.
“Sir, you need to give the doctors room to work,” a nurse told Dean, closing the curtains.
Vic saw Miranda across the empty ER.
“Doctor Bailey!” Vic called out.
Miranda rushed over to see Vic and a very worried Dean.
“Hughes, Miller? Are you guys on a call?” Miranda asked.
“No, Miller’s daughter is in Trauma one right now. Could you go check on her?” Vic asked.
“Of course. I’ll be right back.”
Vic lead Dean over to the ER waiting room to sit down. Dean looked across the crowded waiting room to find a woman dressed as a worker from Pru’s daycare.
“Are you-?” Dean hesitated, “Do you work at the daycare on Tavern street?”
“Yes, I’m Olivia,” the worker answered.
“Did you come in here with my daughter, Pru?”
“Yes, I rode in the ambulance with her. You must be her parents.”
“Uh-,” Vic started.
“No-,” Dean stammered, “I’m her father, Dean. Pru’s mother and I, well, it’s-, it’s complicated.”
“Oh. Sorry about that,” Olivia answered.
“I’m Vic. Dean and I work together,” Vic explained.
“Oh, okay,” Olivia replied.
Miranda came back into the waiting room.
"Dr. Bailey, how's Pru?" Dean asked, almost jumping out of his skin.
"She has a fractured arm, a fractured leg and a cut on her face," Miranda answered, "they've sutured her face, and they are taking her to surgery to repair her arm and leg. I'll keep you updated."
Dean broke down in tears. Vic put her hands on Dean's cheeks.
"Hey, Miller. Look at me," she said, "Look at me. Pru is going to be fine. They have amazing doctors here, or else they wouldn't be in business."
Dean leaned forward, pressing his lips against Vic's.
--
Dean woke up, breathing heavily. He put his boxers and a t-shirt on and walking into the living room, where Vic was sleeping on his couch. She was on her phone.
"Hughes, can we talk?" Dean asked.
"Yeah, Miller. What's up?" she answered.
Dean sat down in the chair across from Vic.
"I'm going to tell you something and when I say-."
"I love you too, Miller."
"What? I-"
"Dean. I love you, and I'm sure you love me back. Let's finally admit it."
"Vic-"
"Let's tell people at 19’s Christmas party tomorrow."
"They probably already know," Dean chuckled.
"Yeah, you're probably right."
Pru's cry broke through the silence.
"I'll-" Dean started.
"I'll go get her. She can be the first one we tell," Vic joked.
--
Arriving at the Christmas party, Vic and Dean were hand and hand.
Travis walked by.
"Guys!" he called out to the rest of the group, "I see hand-holding!"
"What?!" Maya cheered.
"Miller and I... are together," Vic announced.
"Wow, we never saw this coming," Andy smirked.
Vic leaned in for a kiss from Dean. There lips pressed together and a cheer errupted from the team.
"Wow, it must be the Christmas of love. Emmett and I just got back together," Travis announced.
"Wow, Travis thanks for stealing the moment," Vic laughed.
