“Local Troupe Is Signed Up For Big Time,” Kingston Whig-Standard. May 11, 1942. Page 3. ---- The three Vickers sisters, Eva, Joyce, and Flo, of Kingston, who have helped entertain the troops stationed in Kingston and district since the war started, three and four nights a week have won for themselves the unique distinction of being signed by the Marx Brothers of Hollywood, to form part of a travelling show that will tour Canada for a year entertaining at the different troop camps.
The three troupers are leaving Kingston on Wednesday and their first stop is Kirkland Lake and from there will work across Canada to Vancouver and expect to spend the next winter in the foothills of the Rockies in Alberta.
The Vickers Sisters make up a singing and dancing act and are glad of this opportunity to be part of a large group of entertainers who will continue their war effort of providing entertainment for the men in uniform.
