Victoria I promised you this I hope I did an okay job....
Here's your drabble my darling!!! <3
Today was a very special day. Not only was Victoria in town visiting me and the rest of my friends but we were going to do something very exciting today.
"Vicky I'm taking you someplace very special today!"
She only laughed.
We headed to the LRT station and took the train with Staci and Tiffany getting off at Churchill station. "Follow us," we told her.
Soon we were headed up the stairs to The Citadel Theatre. "Here is your ticket milady," I chuckled. "We're going to see a play in case you haven't figured it out yet," I laughed.
We took our seats in the Maclab Theatre; the one which was set up in a very Shakespearian manner; stage in the middle with an almost stadium style seating around it. “Julius Caesar?” Victoria read off the front of the program.
“Yuppers. Shakespeare!” I exclaimed happily.
“We’ve seen this one before a few years ago actually,” Staci piped in, “It was amazing!”
“Yeah,” I agreed, “They kept the original language but updated the costumes it was brilliant!”
Victoria smiled.
“Vicky do me a favour. Open the program to page seven and tell me who’s playing Brutus will you? Oh and remember; we’re in a theatre so keep your voice down…”
She raised her eyebrow at me and did as I asked. I waited in anticipation until-
“OH MY GOD!” Victoria squealed and slapped her hand to her mouth. “Oh my God!!!”
I laughed mischievously. “What’s wrong?” I chuckled, “Who is it?”
“BRITTANY YOU ARE NOT SERIOUS!” Vicky exclaimed in shock. “Ty? Ty Olsson?!”
I couldn’t help my excited laughter.
After she had stopped hyperventilating and had calmed down somewhat I continued to explain, “See I knew he’d be appearing in this play and I couldn’t help but keep it a secret from you so that we could surprise you!”
“You!” she laughed.
“Here’s the thing though and promise me you won’t flip out,” I began.
Victoria laughed. “I’ll try not to but I can’t promise I won’t… I’m still having a hard time breathing!” she confessed excitedly.
“He-he well as long as you try!” I chuckled, “Alright the thing is that we’ve come on a day that they call ‘Talk-back Tuesdays’ so what that means is that select people get to stay after the play and speak with some of the actors and the crew and the director about the play. Well let’s just say that Tiff, Staci and I have arranged to stay and-”
“Ty’s going to be there!?” she finished in astonishment.
I only laughed in response.
“ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?” Victoria exclaimed. “NO! OHMYGAWD!”
But I was, in fact, not kidding.
We watched the play; and I could hear and feel Victoria squirming in her seat at every scene with Ty (which were quite a few as anyone who knows this play would be aware of). She was in total fan-girl mode and I didn’t blame her. This was Ty Olsson after all!
As we waited in the room for the “Talk-Back” to begin, I could feel myself start to hyperventilate. I was just so excited for Victoria to finally meet and talk to Ty. We’d joked in the past that I would introduce him to her and here was my chance! I had taken it and now I was so excited with the irony and anticipation of it I couldn’t help myself.
Honestly, the moment they came in and the whole talk began is a blur in my mind. What I do remember though is that Victoria didn’t take her eyes off of him and soon I noticed that Ty didn’t take his eyes off of her.
I thought I was imagining it until the talk was winding down and Ty was staring over at our group with a small smile on his face. I don’t remember what was said but all of a sudden Ty said “Yes of course,” and came over to us. My heart stopped as he hugged Victoria.
I made a huge attempt not to squee.
Then he was talking with her. “So where’re you from originally then?” he asked.
“Kansas. I’m just here visiting Brittany and her friends,” she replied with a gesture.
I felt myself blush as he smiled at us. “And you all are from here in Edmonton?”
“Yup!” we confirmed.
“Okay so you’re… Vicky right?”
She could only nod and I imagined that she liked the way her name sounded from his lips.
“And let me get your names again,” Ty asked with a smile.
“Brittany.”
“Staci.”
“Tiffany.”
“Wonderful to meet you all!” Ty exclaimed. “So Vicky how do you like Edmonton so far?”
“I love it; it’s a lot of fun!”
“Have you been to West Edmonton Mall yet?”
“Yeah we went Saturday,” she replied with a smile. “Have you been there?”
“Yeah a few times. It’s pretty neat actually! Have you guys been to the amusement park there?”
“No not yet,” I answered, “Or at least Victoria hasn’t. We’ve all been quite a few times in our lifetimes but… Have you been?” I dared to ask.
“I was thinking about going tomorrow since it’s- what is it called? Wacky Wednesday? Do you think the crowds’ll be big for that?”
“Well I know at least one crowd you’ll be seeing,” Tiff chuckled.
“Oh and which crowd is that?” Ty laughed.
“Ours,” Tiffany replied.
“We were going to go tomorrow too!” Staci added.
“No way!” Ty looked taken aback in amusement. “That’s coincidence I hope?” he teased.
“It actually is!” I confessed; unable to lie about the matter. It was just so crazy I couldn’t believe it.
“Hold on a sec so tomorrow I’m going; tomorrow you’re going… And tomorrow’s going to be my first time there and your first time,” he addressed Vicky, “That’s pretty cool! I don’t suppose we’ll not run into each other then,” he mused.
Victoria was just staring at him with a grin etched into her features. I think she was in shock to be honest.
“So why don’t we all just meet up and go together?” I joked.
“That’s not a bad idea actually!” Ty agreed.
“What?” My mouth fell open in surprise.
“It’s not a bad idea; I mean if we’re going to run into each other anyway and all that why don’t we just save ourselves the trouble of bumping into each other randomly? We can go on a few rides together and you ladies can show Vicky and I here around to the best ones.”
He was serious. He was fucking serious.
“Would you? I mean you would? I mean?” Victoria stuttered.
Ty laughed. “Let’s meet at let’s say 1 pm. They have a roller coaster don’t they? Let’s all meet in front of that then…”
“Holy shit,” I muttered. This was too good to be true. I couldn’t have written anything like this. I had introduced Victoria to Ty Olsson. He had hugged her. And now he wanted to hang out with us tomorrow afternoon. What the heck was going on?!
“Sure I don’t mind, um…” Staci murmured.
“I’m in,” Tiffany agreed.
“Yeah sure I mean…” I trailed off.
“Vicky? Sound good to you?” he asked.
“Hellz yes!” she exclaimed happily. “We’ll see you there then!”
Ty grinned. “Sounds like a plan,” he exclaimed happily; clearly amused by her enthusiasm.
“And can I ask you a dare?” Victoria went on. She was clearly just going for it now. I was so happy and excited for her.
“Maybe,” he chuckled nervously.
“Okay well if we go on the roller coaster and you end up screaming you have to talk like Benny Lafitte for a whole hour…”
He narrowed his eyes as he considered. “Deal,” he declared at last.
I could almost feel the scream that she wanted to give him but held back.
“Well I suppose I shall see you lovely ladies tomorrow then alright?” Ty hugged each of us and thanked us for coming to the show that evening. I noticed though he lingered on his hug with Victoria.
“See you tomorrow.”
“See you tomorrow,” she echoed, “And don’t forget about our dare… You promised.”
“And I shall keep my word,” Ty replied in his Benny Lafitte accent before he walked backstage away from us.
