My name is Jade and I am currently studying BA Photography. I LOVE portraiture, which brings me onto the picture above. For my Absence and Presence project, I am focusing on portraiture and how to capture ourselves in our purest, raw form. The image here is taken by Vicky Grout, a portraiture, music and street photographer. What I like about this image and Grout’s other portraiture work is that she is able to make the viewer feel as if they are there looking at the model. There is no focus to anything within the background, which draws all your attention to every little detail about the person and the emotions they portray in that moment. For my own project, I want to look at the absence of knowledge of the subject, but focusing solely on the presence of the emotions, shown through posture, pose, body language and facial expressions.
I love working with @lighthouse_brighton their events are always interesting and I have met some very interesting people, Wednesday was no exception!
