"Yes, Mr. Bennett always has a way of dampening the mood," said Victor as he guided Rinnah from the meeting room. "And Dr. Richardson... well, he really should learn to stick to the notes that his secretary prepares for him." He licked his lips, thinking. What would their itinerary look like now? She hadn't been in any operating rooms, or in the isolation ward, since animals generally weren't allowed in such areas. He'd once made the mistake of walking past the children's ward with her, much to the delight of his youngest patients and subjects, but she wasn't their therapy animal and, he had to admit, she wasn't his, either. "A good question, my dear. I suppose I must return your effects before we can discuss your future here." He wanted to prepare a room for her, some implicit way of obliging her to stay. This hadn't worked out with Chloe, however. The child's stay had been bitter and short-lived. Hospitality meant so little these days... Not wishing to think of this any longer, he motioned toward the staircase to his office. "Shall we? I'm sure you're eager to be reunited with your belongings."
There was a look of surprise, which quickly turned into relief, when he mentioned that he would be giving back her things. It was not her intention to run off, as one might think, but rather just wanting to have her possessions within her reach, once more. The objects were important to her, and some valuable beyond what the average human could comprehend.
"I very much would appreciate having my things back. I have notes to log digitally." She walked alongside Victor as they made their way back to his office. "I also am quite partial to my knife, and the bandages. They were gifts for...odd jobs that I took."
Rinnah was silent for a few more steps, though harzarded a glance at her companion, a question forming.
"You mentioned my future, here...does that mean I am allowed to stay? I mean...no longer than is acceptable, of course. I would hate to wear out my welcome." She brought her gaze back to the hallway before them, brows furrowing, "I hope it wouldn't be an issue for me to sleep outside within the grounds. Don't really do to well sleeping alone, indoors...especially in a medical setting. Wasn't always like that, but it's been that way long enough."
