Here, take a prompt:
"It's called l'appele du vide. The call of the void. It's French."
"That doesn't mean jump off a building!"
This is definitely a good prompt for Victorie and Vanessa
"Nessa!" Victorie screamed as Vanessa took a step forward, dropping off the side of the high-rise they stood on top of. Immediately Victorie took off running, launching herself down after Vanessa.
The wind whipped through her hair as she fell, a brief moment of eerie calm passing through her as she plummeted to the ground, only to be interrupted by a sharp crack of pain as her leg snapped.
Victorie cried out in pain, pulling herself over to where Vanessa lay. "Nessa?" Victorie touched Vanessa's shoulder.
Vanessa cracked open an eye. "That was awesome!"
"What the actual fuck was that about?" Victorie's French accent came out in full force.
"It's called l'appele du vide. The call of the void. It's French. Though you'd probably know that."
"That doesn't mean jump off a building!" Victorie was exasperated. "I am immortal. You are not."
"Yeah, but I'm also basically invulnerable." Vanessa dusted herself off, inspecting the plates of blue-black chitin that covered her extremities. "See? Not a scratch."
"Merde, you're such an idiot." Victorie grit her teeth as she snapped her leg back into place, waiting a moment for her body to stitch itself back together, before she stood up. "I thought I lost you. Moron."
"And you broke your leg jumping down after me." Vanessa crossed her arms. "By your logic, you could have been killed too."
"I'm immortal, Nessa." Victorie deadpanned.
"And I'm basically invulnerable, so there." Vanessa countered. "I just wanted to see what it was like, to fall like that. It was a split-second impulse, and probably a dumb idea, but I'm fine."
"I just don't want to lose you, Papillon." Victorie cupped Vanessa's face in her hands.
"Great, now you're calling me one of those freaky-ass off-brand chihuahuas." Vanessa rolled her eyes.
"It means 'butterfly'." Victorie replied. "Because you're so beautiful."
"And because I have an exoskeleton?" Vanessa teased.
"That has nothing to do with it." Victorie shook her head. "Just... don't do that again. You scared me so much my heart stopped."
"Vick, you're a vampire. Your heart stopped, like, three hundred years ago." Vanessa joked. "But if it makes you feel any better, sure. I'll avoid jumping off buildings for the time being."
Victorie sighed. "I can't believe you just had to say that."
