@victoriousfeeling asked for kisses <3
Watching Jason in the firelight from their camp, Ajay couldn’t help but smile. Jason was bundled up in a jacket with a blanket over his shoulders, looking into the fire with unseeing eyes. Ajay didn’t even have to know him as well as he does to know that his mind is a million miles away. Maybe back in California, maybe back on that island, he doesn’t know, and he doesn’t ask. Instead, he moves slowly, as if the cold air of the mountains would allow him to move much faster even if he wanted to, and scoots closer to Jason, close enough to be able to lean against him and feel the heat radiating from his body. Jason turns his head, but before he could say anything, Ajay silences him with a kiss. It’s gentle, as is the gloved hand that raises to rest against the back of Jason’s neck, and he lingers on it, enjoying the warmth it generates as a brief distraction from the biting cold.
When he finally pulls back, he smiles at Jason. “I know I’ve said it before, but…thanks for coming here with me, and staying when things got crazy. I know it’s not anything like we planned—” They were only supposed to spread his mother’s ashes after all, not get in caught in the middle of a civil war. “—but there’s not another person in the world I rather do this with.”
