Freak Out was originally "F-ck You". Nile Rodgers and the gang were denied entry to Studio 54. Pissed off and salty they went to the roof top of the building next door. They started jammin out; playing the rhythm we hear in this song. On the break they yelled "ahhhhh F-ck you!" Of course this didn't go unnoticed by the many music industry people who were waiting in line at 54. Nile says he was contacted a few days later about his pissed off jam session and asked could he do something else with the song. The rest is history.
