Every first of July, as a teacher here in Texas, our inboxes are filled with a list of 40 videos that we must watch and take tests over. Every year. The same videos. Now, sometimes, they add to them as the situation merits. In the last two or three years, we have had active shooters, assailant training, dating violence, and human trafficking added to our list of videos.

But there are some that I have seen every year for the last 9 years.

You have to watch every single video and you have to take a test and pass on every single video.

I am at the point now that I can put the videos on silent and still take the test and pass. And this is good because there are some videos like the video on reporting child abuse, the forms of child abuse and suicide that are almost impossible to watch, that's how I have to view them. And they even come with warnings saying that this footage is disturbing. Yet we have to watch them every year.

In the last two days I have managed to watch eight of these videos and take tests on them. But today is a day of rest where I am not watching any videos at all except for scary movies.
