Jacobs Krönung A few days ago I ordered a package of Krönung Aroma Bohnen (literal translation = coronation flavor beans) by the German coffee brand Jacobs. My parents used to drink Jacobs coffee when I was little. It was and still is a popular brand. I recently got reminded of that brand by the posters that the designers of Vier5 had created for the Johann Jacob Museum* in Zurich, some of which were on display in the Sterling Music Room from May through June 2016. I suddenly felt the need to revisit this experience from the past, and to order a package of Jacobs whole bean coffee to see how it tastes after all these years.
Today I got a notification from Amazon, informing me that my shipment from World Wide Chocolate had been canceled, because the seller was unable to ship the order to my provided address. (?)
*The Johann Jacob Museum was founded in 1984 by Klaus J. Jacobs and named after his great-uncle Johann Jacobs (1869–1958), who in 1895 opened a specialty shop in Bremen (Germany) selling “Caffee, Thee, Cacao, Chocoladen und Biscuits.” That marked the beginning of what would become the successful Jacobs coffee empire.
