Painting Discipline (9th of March 2026)
Today myself and my classmates in Painting brought in objects that showed colour, form and shape. We then brought all our objects of different shapes and sizes down to the Church Gallery to create a composition of different heights. We made up boxes so that we could elevate the objects in different heights. We started building from the floor and worked our way up.
We had to make sure the structure was stable enough to stay standing without any assistance, especially if someone walked past it.
We then walked clockwise around the structure and took photos of what parts struck us the most as individuals. I like how chaotic and unorganised it looks, and how every piece stands out in its own way.
Using view finders:
Today we also made view finders (measuring 6 x 4) , using white card, so that it would be easier to find a section to zoom in on when drawing our thumbnail sketches.
Here are some thumbnails sketches that I drew using my view finder.
