Ashwini Mudra has benefits that cannot be contained in words.On a physical level, this mudra defies age and bestows tremendous vitality tothe practitioner. As this mudra affects the root chakra, there is a gradualawakening of certain psychic abilities that a practitioner can observe sooneror later. I cannot speak of theseexperiences as they are personal and differs from person to person. But Iassure you that the experiences make you a better person and solve mysteries oflife from some knowledge received from inside.
You can practice it anytime and anywhere. The practiceshould not be deliberate. It should come naturally. Your body signals you asyou grow with it. To make it come naturally, you must ensure that your colon isclean. This mudra is difficult for people with constipation or some form ofindigestion. Sitting with a straight back or lying down on back also helps inisolating the sphincter muscles.
Now I am sharing a secret with you and other readers. This methodtriggers Ashwini Mudra by itself. You simply have to sit straight and have togaze at the tip of the nose. The eyes will be half open and half closed. Aftera minute or two you will feel an urge to contract sphincter muscles. Continuegazing at tip of the nose and you will be amazed to observe that you are ableto pull the sphincter muscles without much effort. You can pull the muscles for20 to 30 times in one go. It happens at exhalation of breath or post exhalationof breath. Do four to five rounds of this exercise and disengage after that.Too much of this practice can harm you. Do this every day at suitable time.Soon your body will trigger this mudra automatically at certain point duringthe day.
I usually get an urge to do it while having my lunch andbefore going to sleep. Let’s see at what point you get the daily trigger.
