“I have the right to be worried!”

Viirta winced and then scuffed her foot. “I didn’t mean to scare ya like that, Koz... Just... Nes dived over a balcony! Of course I went after her! No it weren’t smart. But... Someone needed ta back her up. And... I knew ya had Imoue in hand. So.. Yeah. I’m sorry... I already chewed out Nes. Guess it was my turn.”

“You need to stop doing stupid shit like that or you will get yourself killed.”

Nes rolled her eyes and then held her hands up to ward off the angry advance of her best friend. Being four whole fulms taller than Viirta didn’t diminish the lalafell’s intimidation factor. Nes huffed and answered, “Come on, Vii! I didn’t know he had a knife! And you know I ain’t gonna let some asshat harass someone like that. I at least knew how to fight! That boy back there was just a kid! Who solicits children like that?”

Viirta crossed her arms and glared. “I ain’t talkin’ about that, ya dense doof! I’m talkin’ about diving over a balcony with yer arms wrapped around that idiot’s neck! I ain’t a healer! What if ya'd broken somethin’!?”

Nes grinned weakly. “Well... Okay. I mighta got caught up in the fight.”

“Mighta?”

“More than a little.”

Sigh.

Norhi is generally a rather upbeat and happy person the majority of the time, quite bubbly in fact. And this is in spite of her constantly getting lost, or sticking her nose into things that get her in trouble, a shy streak that causes a stammer and crossing of words. A lack of direction and overabundance of curiosity makes for a few interesting adventures. But she’s naturally a rather positive person, when she gets her point across. 

Viirta on the surface, looks angry most of the time. That is a front, however. Most of the time she’s just calm and neutral. Though, it doesn’t take much for the temper to flare in honest. And if you want to see her happy, just watch her spend time with her husband and child. They are the number one bright spot in her life. Otherwise, she’s actually rather indifferent, while looking angry to get people to leave her alone.

Ceridwen is sober sort. Perhaps with an edge of fear to her life. She’s quick to smile, however, wanting to not worry anyone about herself. And she cares a great deal about other people’s comfort. But when sitting on her own, she appears very serious. She’s usually thinking about her studies in that case.

Riall’a’s usual state of is one of patience and anticipation. His work keeps him on the road a lot. And so it’s quite normal for things to change at a moment’s notice. He enjoys the change and variety a lot. It allows him to learn things about the world he’d never have guessed at.

Tannysa’s surface emotions are a mix of wonder and rashness. Eorzea amazes her and she’s quick to dive headfirst into each new discovery. Underneath all of that, however, is a strong streak of grief. Losing her home and many her people, in Doma, will take her a long time to grieve and cope with. 

Trian is very similar to his sister, Tanni, in that his surface emotions cover a huge well of grief. This is something you’d find displayed in varying levels in their entire family. His surface emotions however, are more guarded and distrustful. He acts more out of anger and confusion.

Nessyra is the confident sort. And despite her sizable drinking habit, it’s not the liquor induced sort of confidence. She’s like that when she’s sober too. But she’s quick to smile, quick to laugh, and quick to flirt. She might even appear flighty, but that isn’t the honest case with her. She’s very loyal to those she’s chosen as her friends. And if you’ve been labeled a close friend or family, well... good luck getting rid of her then.

What if Imoue was a twin?

Viirta would’ve taken up smoking. One Imoue is energetic enough. And any twin of hers would either be an exact match, driving all the adults around them nuts with their mischief. Or the twin would’ve been the absolute opposite, clinging to her mother and probably making everyone think she was mute, until she was four or five summers old. Either way, Viirta would’ve driven herself nuts trying to single mother the two until her return to Ul’dah.

And yes, the twin would be a girl. Identical to Imoue.

What if Viirta had never met Kozue?

If Vii had never met Koz, she’d probably have run away from the orphanage. Probably right before she was to be sent away to a discipline house or something. She’d have taken to the streets and gotten involved in whatever gang that would’ve taken her in. And she’d have gotten pregnant a lot earlier in her life.

What if Kozuzu got lost?

Well... Viirta’s reaction would depend a lot on where Kozuzu was when she last saw him. 

Was he at the market in Ul’dah? She’d prop Imoue up high somewhere and tell the girl to scream for her daddy. 

What about a trip to Mor Dhona for research work? She’d start setting the wilds on fire, while their more reasonable friends would contact the adventurer’s guild for assistance. 

Library? She’d go set her butt down in the history section with a bowl of his favorite food and wait.

Rain

Rain: I’ll write a fluffy drabble of our characters kissing in the rain. 

Viirta was pouting again. She always pouted when it rained. And Kozue knew this. So she slogged through their errands in the market, simply grateful they’d left Imoue with Tigin and Marsche that day. A moment later, Viirta steps off the side of the market, taking a moment to just sigh. She was glad to be free of the crowd for a moment.

Kozue, who’d hung onto Viirta’s sleeve the entire way, simply frowned at the sound of her sigh. His hands reached for her face, finding her cheeks and then her nose. A moment later, he pulled her closer, close enough to bump their noses together. He smiles for a moment and then gives her a small kiss. “Cheer up. We can take a bath together when we get home.”

Viirta blinked at this and then smiled a bit. “Yeah... Okay. Why don’t we tell the troublemakers to keep kiddo overnight.”

Viirta hummed quietly as she did up the buttons on the back of Kozue’s new robe. “Let’s ask someone to alter this one, hon. It’s a little long in the hem. And... I think you’d be happier with the buttons in the front.”
