Ever the hardworking people, The Crystarium Guard was always in tip-top shape, ready for battle, regardless of what the upcoming storm brought forth. One that struck out of those guardsmen was the Guard Captain herself, Lyna. Coincidentally, she was the one he wanted to visit today. 

Walking through the purple colors of decorating the afternoon, Meteor glanced over the guardsmen around. For some reason, they all seemed exhausted. A bit of a shudder escaped him before reaching Lyna. Once meeting with her face to face, he smiled and proceeded to have the first word. “Ah, your men seem to be very tired. Have you been subjecting them to a stronger regimen, as of late?” 

In a jovial tone he spoke at the girl, hoping it would help alleviate whatever work they had been going through today. There was always something new to take care of after all. “Do you have some time to spare for me?”

He didn’t really get to converse with Lyna much outside of work-related issues, and that made him a little sad. Though understandable as it was, it had been a while since he’d heard from her. And thus, he had come to the conclusion that he needed to visit her. Not that it would make much difference, but for a few moments he could pretend he wasn’t the Exarch anymore.

Just a man with too much power at his side...

Upon arriving at her place of residence, he knocked a couple times. “Lyna? Are you home?” He rubbed his arm, concern causing his lips to form into a slight frown. Hopefully, hopefully she was...

@viisguard didn’t like for a starter but got one anyway!

“Greetings from the Crystarium,” the vessel called gently as he neared the Imperative’s aetherite crystal. Almost all evidence of the Eater attack there had been removed but he could still the bloodstain that had been against a wall here, the corpse of a fallen guardsman there despite them no longer actually being there. 

He could still see the captain of the guard laying there on the floor after the attack, even though she was stood but a few ilms in front of him, hale and hearty at least on the outside.

“They send their best to you and yours,” he added, holding up a large basket full of fresh sandwiches, chilled meats and fruit. There was even a small bottle of booze in the mix to cheer the guardsmen up somewhat.

Once more he’d been relegated to delivery boy but it showed a humility to him, that for all they held him in high esteem, he wasn’t above the small things like bringing them lunch. Helped that his Yol sped up the journey too, of course.

“There is, yes, in a way,” Teu nods, the faintest of smiles appearing in her face at Lyna’s reaction. It’s an attempt to be calming, and perhaps there’s a faint note of pride there. Most of the time, despite the effort she’s making to change it, she’s not as stealthy as she’d like to be. Then again, she’s probably just been very lucky this time.

“I was wondering, Captain,” she starts, “if I could join you for a spar when your duties allow for it."

All in all Teu is curious, and ever since leaving her home she has met precious few Viera, Viis in the First. How could she not ask?

“Yes, I recall the Viis of Ronka.” The Viera woman cross her arms over her chest. She had hoped to learn a bit more about the First’s counterpart in the First, but it there wasn’t much learn. “I know not much about my own people. My mother left her village long ago and by law, she is unable to return. From what I’ve been told, Viera live secluded from other species, caring not for the world beyond their borders.

Lyna had not been expecting the Warrior of Darkness’ company, but far be it from her to refuse it. She was one of the few that the guard captain considered a friend, whom she trusted and respected for all she had done. Though, it didn’t stop an eyebrow from quirking in question. There were not many who willingly came to be social with her.

“Hello there. Was there… Something you needed?”

Finally back at Crystarium, Aria was relieved to be able to rest a little. Having to eliminate Lightwardens was something particularly exhausting, both for the body and mind. Although her friends advised her to go lie down and get some sleep, the Garlean preferred to take a little trip around the city to discover it a little more.

On her way, she didn't expect to meet the Captain of the Guard sitting on a bench and decided to sit next to her. "Hello," she replied with a soft friendly smile. "Oh, no. Don't worry about that. I have everything I need. I... don't think I've ever received so much attention in my life," she chuckled slightly.

"I was just thinking that we've never really had a chance to talk together since I arrived here."

“Lyna-!” He shook his head, summoning as much aether as possible to push towards her wounds. No, no. Not here, not now. He wasn’t going to have his granddaughter bleed out on him. He pushed harder, wincing as he did so, the demand for more aether to heal this wound...

“No, it’s not... Lyna, I’m not going to lose you... I can’t lose anyone else, I can’t...” He pushed, until the aether dispersed and the wound was mostly healed. His head ached, and he had a bad nosebleed afterwards, but Lyna’s wound wasn’t as bad as it was. Everything was blurry, spinning, and he fell backwards to stare at the sky.

“...Are... Are you alright, Lyna...?”
