How to make a Viking Torc for your top follower:

Cut a copper plumbing pipe in half. You can buy this at any hardware store and it has a relatively nice thickness.

Hammer the pipes flat.

This is how flat they need to be.

Sketch your design on the copper blank. I use Silver and Blue paint Sharpies to distinguish between what gets folded over and what gets carved.

Carve your design into the copper using appropriate tools. I made or modified mine from tools I don't use, like an old allen wrench, and small file and a screw driver.

Roll the edges over using multiple passes with a light hammer.

Curl the design around a larger pipe or anvil if you have one.

Tips:

Copper work hardens, so take occasional breaks to heat it to red hot and the drown in water to soften it up.

Don't over sharpen your engraving tools or you will cut right through copper.

Use a small hammer when engraving.

Sand and file any sharp edges down to reduce cuts during use.

To get a nice deep orange without chemicals buff with polishing crayon and gently and evenly heat to desired color and rapidly cool by air.
