Day 4 - "Underwater" In researching sea monsters in Norse Mythology, cam across this gem; Rán Goddess of the sea who dragged the dead down with her net. Needed to break out the Copics to get that underwater feel. @jakeparker #Inktober #vikingjam #heytheresailor
Days 28, 29, 30, 31 - "Fall, United, Found, Mask" The root tunnels twisted and joined to bring Black Ingrid, Rangvald the Blessed, and the Masked Völva together once more in plummeting to Hel. Coincidentally united just in time to find the creature that had put the rot into Yggdrasil's roots. And as with every shitheap they got themselves into, it was up to Ingrid to act fast and save them from death's gaping maw. Phew! Well posting the final one a day late, plus having to bend the rules a little, I'd still say this was a relatively successful Inktober. Certainly better than the last couple! Whether you manage the full month or not, it's always a blast though! Days 24 to 27 - "Blind, Ship, Squeak, Climb" The funeral rites were just a formality at this point. The old man's soul still needed to be carried off to the underworld, but Músa had taken control of his body long ago. Sure it had been a struggle to finally reach in and overthrow his mind, but he'd shown kindness to her in his last years as both his sight and his reason begun to slip away. The mouse watched the flames leap from the empty ship and climb the darkening sky and shrugged off the last of her guilt. He would be at peace. My last piece had finished off my sketchbook. Day 22 & 23 - "Trail" & "Juicy" The entire Dwarven kingdom had emptied out into the wilds and the plains to find Iðunn's tree. Obscene riches to the one who procured eternal youth for King Dain. Nothing less would be needed to convince a dwarf to leave the comfort of the mountains. Fortunately for Siv, no one else knew about the trail at Pjazi's Pass, and the ripe juicy prize waiting at the end. I wanted this to be a nighttime one, but I knew my current marker selection was too limited to do that how I wanted. Day 19 & 20 - "Filthy & Cloud" That was the last straw. Hilde had suffered the scorn of the entire town for over a year until they had finally been rid of the gnome infestation, and her name had only just begun to command respect again. Had such filthy language come from anyone other than that oaf Magnus, she'd likely only have vicious words for them. But for this lumbering braggart, she'd been saving a vicious blow just for him. The imposing woman sent him sailing across the hall, leaving nothing but a cloud of dust and grime in his place. And she barely spilled her ale. I think I've found my new favorite thing to draw; a hard-ass gal smokin' a dude in the teeth.
