Plot: Not Just For Us Anymore

See, there's this couple, right? They met in... I don't know, a long time ago - Egyptian times, Middle Ages, Victorian times - maybe even farther back? And yet here they are, in the distant future, hopping from place to place all the while wearing smiles and holding hands. That's right. They're immortal. When they met, they fell so deeply in love that they went on all sorts of adventures in hopes of finding ways to be together forever - and they did it. 

Together they've experienced friends, family, opportunities nobody else has and all through it they never had to worry about losing each other. Even in times of danger approached the situations fearlessly, knowing that even if they were beheaded for treachery, burned for witchcraft or lost to a natural disaster, they would find each other again the very next day, someway, somehow, and that twenty-four hours would only ever be the longest they'd have to do without each other. 

But now, in the future,, something's different... Of all the people in the entire world they'd met, they find one person who needs their help. Something strikes them, calls out to them - maybe it is just this couple passing by and reaching down to help this person stand up after they've fallen over... but eventually, the couple stop living for themselves as they realize this one person is, in fact, responsible for stopping the very-imminent destruction of the entire world - while technically the couple could just float through the universe until they found another home, could they stand so selfishly by while the world they've known for so long is at risk? So they stop living for themselves, and instead begin living for, and protecting, this person. Even with severs the forces of the universe working to destroy this person. 

It tests the faith, the devotion of this couple which for long has stood and further, can they actually protect this person? Can this actually be stopped? Maybe this is their retribution for upsetting the universe, for not passing when they were supposed to. What happens when they are forced to risk each other for this one person...? When the very purpose of their immortality is shaken?

Plot Idea : They Came, They Saw... They Left. That wasn't very exciting.

Ever since mankind began opening their mind to larger possibilities, the question, "Are we alone out there?" has always hung in the sky like the many stars that kiss that big blanket o' blue hanging under dear Luna. We've sent messages into space, we've received messages from space! We've made movies, comics, just about every art media you can imagine we've used them to depict what the aliens might look like and what might happen.  Finally, they came.  Looked around a bit, made some political niceties, casually commented on how we're fucking up our planet, gave us a pat on the back and a few new machines to jump-start our technology advancement by about five hundred years, maybe even a cure for cancer and other diseases! 

....And then they left. 

Well. That's not very exciting, is it? 

Not until it comes to the realization of everyone all over the world that not only IS there life out there, but there's a whole goddamn alien convention hanging out right outside of our reach. And guess what? We've been the running joke for CENTURIES now. Like the red-headed step child who likes to stick crayons up his nose in an otherwise well-to-do and posh family. 

One of the machines left behind by the tall and grey-skinned visitors was an inter-spacial telecommunication device linked up to a sort of 'space hub'--like a cosplay convention on a massive scale floating in space--where we could talk and be talked to, but that was the extent of it. When mankind, tails tucked and cheeks blushing, insists that they're better and more awesome than the entirely 100% accurate man-baby representation/reputation they have, the human race invites all available alien species to come down to earth and hang out. C'mon-- Let us prove our awesome-ness! 

Of course, while we were expecting foreign ambassadors and posh dignitaries to come and have crumpets and tea, we get scum, ruffians, hooligans, and the general ghetto of space. 

So, what happens when the human race fucks up and inadvertently invites the whole scum of the universe? We prove we can handle it without destroying our planet in the process and earn the respect of the species present on the inter-spacial council! Maybe making some rag-tag friends along the way. The only thing left to decide: Who's POV will this be experienced from?

Plot Idea : The Veil! ...What Veil?

How AWESOME would it be if we had magic and monsters and unicorns and junk in our daily lives? Well, who's to say we don't? Maybe we just can't see all that! Many, many stories give reference to a thing called The Veil; Like a gigantic sheet of Harry Potter's Cloak of Invisibility hiding all of the awesome stuff while leaving us with the shitty stuff. Not fair. But then, say there's one person-- ONE PERSON in the entire world who doesn't have a veil. They see elves, dragons, unicorns, demons, all kinds of neat stuff in every-day life!  No-- No, wait, stay with me here. C'mon, keep reading! 

They recognize that there are two worlds and that they simply can see both of them and interact with them in turn. But then, what if, other people started seeing things too? This twitchy kid who's usually ducking or diving out of the way of absolutely nothing or trying to convince that tree not to burn that house down-- What if, one day, someone ducks with them? Or runs screaming from a tree that somehow turns out to actually be a woodland dragon stuck in suburbia who appears increasingly peeved with the kid who tears up all the plants on his property?  Oh, but it gets better!  What if, as the veil is slowly peeling back and both worlds begin to mend, this kid is suddenly whisked off to some magical council of who-dun-it and is appointed ambassador between the planes? Because let's be honest, both sides would be pretty biased toward their own world and here's this kid with a magic potency to the inth degree who's experienced just about all there is to experience of both worlds.  And as if trying to meld the two worlds together without issues isn't bad enough, why is the veil disappearing in the first place? Shouldn't we... y'know... be concerned about that instead of showing the Elves how to make a double-whipped whip-cream latte and taking bridge trolls out to monster truck rallies for a good time? There's got to be something behind why this is happening! 

Oh, what'syourname. At least you don't have to worry about graduating anymore!

Plot Idea : No Apocalypse For Me!

Zombie Apocalypses. Pretty much everyone's boned, right? YES. Except for the dude who totally called it and prepared everything and just so happens to have a buttload of money to back up his plans. Paranoid-geek richy-rich clone is sitting pretty in his zombie-proof fortress on something-something-acre gated property and plans to live out the rest of his life right there. Simple plan! Good plan! Awesome plan. At least until a group of typical zombie survivors (perhaps the heroes and/or martyrs of another book, time, place?) stumble across it and want in. Does he let them in? Prrrrrrobably not a good idea. But just because he's rich and paranoid doesn't mean he's cruel... right? Just run them through the DNA scanner on the way in! Totally cool. Oh-- Wait, dang. That one chick's been infected. Better not let--  "Look, there's an air vent! We can get in through there!"  Oh.... balls.  And now there are two enemies. Is the power of high-tech toys and paranoia worthy of the geekiest shut-in enough to send the post-apocalyptic mercenaries on their way? If someone writes this, we'll find out!
