Depends in the character or show for me.

The only way I can like it is if that character identifies as trans* or is genderfluid.  Otherwise it's not that same character anymore, it'd be like someone drawing me as a man.

I used it for my blog title because 1. I think the writing is beautiful and 2. the idea of someone going through the trouble to translate it makes me laugh inside.
