Yes: even after all these years, i still miss Charles and Gisla and their loving parental relationship. Perhaps it wasn't always supportive, but when it was really needed, they were always there for each other and to protect each other's back.

Instead talking about Ecbert and Aethelwulf... oh boy, what an abusive and dysfunctional father-child relationship. Ecbert might have been an enlightened and way too ahead for their times king; but as a father... yikes.
