9.) Who does your character trust?

There are very few people in the world that Saskia trusts, and it is extremely hard to earn a place among those people. First, Saskia trusts Viktor. Although they are not always close, she trusts him to be honest with her, and that he is a good friend. Secondly, Saskia trusts Quinli. Despite the pair having broken up, and while Saskia may not admit to it, she does trust Quinli. She knows that Quinli is a kind person, and would never go out of her way to try and harm someone. Finally, Saskia trusts her older sister Cassidy. For a long time, Cass was the only person that Saskia was comfortable opening up to, and her sister was always a safe place to go when she was struggling with something.

28th of Zephyr, 1330

Viktor is still dreaming under the effect of one of my new serums. I made sure he was safe after the incident near the front of the hospital. It’s early morning and although I’m home, I can’t shake the image of the Griffon as it escaped. The hospital’s track record for danger is undeniable that this point.

When I touched the Norn, it felt like I was helping her. When I placed my hand on her shoulder, was I perhaps the catalyst that sent her into transformation?

Why was I so reluctant to listen to the man that had tried to warn me? His information was not completely accurate, but I’ve not a magical bone in my body - something I’ve once been proud; that, and my conceit, are my weakness. I am, no doubt, an unlucky sort that beckons trouble through the front doors of the hospital. At what point does it outweigh the lives I save?

Confessions

Saskia made her way back into the infirmary after all of the commotion had died down.

She hated herself for leaving, but the sight of Quinli like that made her sick. She knew she was a good medic, but maybe this is why doctors aren’t supposed to operate on the people they care for. Trying to figure out what to do in that moment had made Saskia sick to her stomach, and after leaving the main room of the infirmary, she spent the next hour throwing up.

The lanky medic made her way over to sit beside her friend. Viktor was just staring blankly at Quinli. Saskia kept her eyes cast down to the floor, and leaned her head on Viktor’s shoulder. “I’m sorry I left.” Before Viktor could speak, Saskia spoke again. “I love her, Viktor.”

Neediness

Being affirmed and nurtured by others is a central requirement for you to feel safe. Viktor has requested that we have more training regarding his medical skills. We will reevaluate his training exercises to better suit the needs of his Company before they set out in a couple of weeks. The Masquerade draws nearer, and I look forward to attending with Garr... But I wish I had more experiences in these kinds of events. What if my dress looks like some garish country garb to the other guests? I suppose they would get over it. I hope Ariel and Steven will be able to attend...

50th of Scion, 1328

It has been more than a year passed and I have been absent. I thought reading back in this supposed journal would jaunt a memory perhaps. No such luck. I write at this moment because the earlier entries seem to indicate severe memory loss and struggle with blackouts. If this the same case, the decision to keep a journal was wise. I have been informed by, what I have confirmed is, my assistant and trainee, that I was investigating Velthan's disappearance. It had led me to Ebonhawke, where I was following up with a man named Carl. He seemed to think Velthan is alive -- and not a ghost -- which had apparently been a concern. My assistant is watching over me, assuming I have a concussion. If he does not know about my previous blackouts, I wonder how much I had told him, or anyone for that matter. I will contact those mentioned in the entries... And simply explain the predicament.
