‘Viktor? Vik… Shame Mikahl isn’t around nearly as much as his brother. When they firs’ came te me, I thought Mik would be th’ one I bonded with; Vik was a royal pain in the arse. I think Vik may’ve stuck around mostly fer his brother, then fer free meals… But we’ve grown on each other. I’s not just ‘bout drinkin’ t’gether, or flirtin’ after th’ women in turn. He’s a Ronvarus. He’s my kin an’ my son. I need not have te raise a boy from a babe te love him as strongly.

His work, his passion, his drive te learn. I’m proud of him, prouder than any parent could be, I reckon. I thought I’d be jealous if a child o’ mine ever surpassed me - an’ though he’s not likely te wield a mace better than I, there are other respects this boy has proven a greater man than me in.

I wish he’d… I wish he was happy. Not troubled. I know what it’s like, te have somethin’ terrible happen. Te not speak on it, but te let it fester inside of ye… An’ unfortunately, I know that yer loved ones are some of th’ last people you want knowin’, ye think it’ll burden ‘em. Only time an’ experience will help him te realize we’re here fer that burden. We want te share it, not have him suffer alone.’

‘Viktor Ronvarus. Progeny of the man who misused my elixirs in the Blackclaw. Luckily, he has demonstrated his worth in both the Hospital and the Order. It disappoints me greatly that he didn’t have the drive - or perhaps, ability - to become anything more than an initiate. Beyond that, I know him as a capable pupil: attentive, competent, with a high retention. His humor, while outspoken, matched well with my own, even if I reprimanded him for it. I know he sensed it. Alas, he found other mentors, and I can only hope they provided the knowledge he yearned for.

I don’t get to see him much in the hospital anymore… I don’t get to see any of my older students. The hospital is but a stepping stone for bigger and better things. I hope he’s doing well.
