Fishy Friday
That’s an awfully nice fish you caught, dear. What should we do with it?
I’m going to take it for a walk.
And, folks, that’s what he did!
We hope you have a great weekend no matter what you have planned.

July is Picnic Month
Summer picnics are a perfect way to spend time outdoors while enjoying the company of friends and family. These photographs of the Gruettner family from the early 1900s prove that picnics are a timeless summer treat best enjoyed surrounded by those you hold dear. Hailing from Milwaukee, the Gruettner family enjoyed spending their summers at their family cabin on Lake Manitowish in Vilas County, Wisconsin. While at their cabin, the family enjoyed many leisure activities like fishing, swimming, and of course, family picnics.
These photographs can be found in box 1 of the Photographs of the Gruettner Family Collection at the UWM Archives.
