My first big piece of 2026, very happy to have completed these designs. Like with the Rhode and Holly V2 designs, these aren't replacements, but rather in-universe late-game appearances.

Sorry if this is weird but if you are ever wanting to, I would be so down to have neurology facts shouted at me. I'm endlessly fascinated by the brain and how it works. 😄

OK ONE COOL FACT THAT I THINK IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

THERE IS A WHITE MATTER STRUCTURE LOCATED IN THE CEREBELLUM CALLED THE ARBOR VITAE. THIS IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE:

THE COOLEST PART IS, ARBOR VITAE IS LATIN FOR “TREE OF LIFE” BECAUSE THE STRUCTURE ITSELF APPEARS LIKE TREE BRANCHES GOING THROUGH THE WHOLE CEREBELLUM!!

AND EVEN BETTER, ITS FUNCTION IS TO BRING SENSORY AND MOTOR INFORMATION TO THE CEREBELLUM THROUGH THESE BRANCHES!!

AND SINCE THE CEREBELLUM’S FUNCTION (PROCESSING OF SENSORY AND MOTOR INFORMATION) IS DIFFERENT IN AUTISTICS THERE IS SOME DIFFERENCES IN THE TINY ANATOMICAL DIVISIONS IN THE CEREBELLUM. SCIENTISTS FOUND THAT THE VERMIS LOBULES VI-VII WHICH CONTRIBUTE TO WHOLE BODY POSTURE WERE SMALLER IN AUTISTIC PEOPLE THAN THE CONTROLS (ALLISTICS) WHICH IS WHY A LOT OF AUTISTICS HAVE UNUSUAL POSTURE AND SPATIAL/BODY AWARENESS!!

I THINK THIS IS SUPER COOL BECAUSE EACH PART OF THE BRAIN IS NAMED SO CAREFULLY AND THE LATIN NAMES ARE BEAUTIFUL! ALSO AUTISM’S STRUCTURAL BRAIN DIFFERENCES ARE SO INTRIGUING BECAUSE THEY CAN BE VERY SLIGHT AND FOUND IN MANY DIFFERENT AREAS BUT HAVE SUCH A HUGE IMPACT!!!!

Animation of the left half of the human brain. Arbor vitae is illustrated in white. The arbor vitae /ˌɑːrbɔːr ˈvaɪtiː/ (Latin for "tree of life") is the cerebellar white matter, so called for its branched, tree-like appearance. In some ways it more resembles a fern and is present in both cerebellar hemispheres. It brings sensory and motor information to and from the cerebellum. The arbor vitae is located deep in the cerebellum. Situated within the arbor vitae are the deep cerebellar nuclei; the dentate, globose, emboliform and the fastigial nuclei.
