In the elevators in the Bellwood level of Ben 10 Alien Force: Vilgax Attacks, you can actually hear an elevator muzak styled remix of the Original Series theme song! Very sneaky, Mark Watters.

So I’ve been having this thought on my mind for a while. Now some of you may know that I absolutely adore Steven Universe. One of the few shows of any quality to come out of Cartoon Network since the decade started and others who have known me for a long time would know that I also used to love Ben 10. I watched it almost religiously as a kid. Funnily enough, it first aired when I was 10. :P Even now I may still watch the original or Alien Force if I catch it on TV, but here’s the thought I had; what if Homeworld from Steven Universe is Mor’ Otesi from Ben 10? For those who don’t know, Mor’ Otesi was the original home of the Crystalsapiens, known to Ben as Chromastone. It was a playable level in Vilgax Attacks and is covered in rock and various types of crystal but, in the same season the game was almost based around, the planet was retconned and there was revealed to only be one Crystalsapien aside from Chromastone who protected over Petropia, Diamondhead’s home. You might be thinking why I think this if Mor’ Otesi doesn’t exist. Well, in an episode of Ultimate Alien, Prof. Paradox was talking to the team about the multiverse. In one universe, he mentioned Albedo turning into Alien X and was stuck. In the DS version of Vilgax Attacks, this is precisely what happens after you defeat Albedo... on Mor’ Otesi. Hinting that the planet does exist in at least one universe. But why would that give me the idea? Just a planet covered in rock and crystal, big deal. You see, also in the game, the world is covered in mining equipment and structures. Yes, this may be mostly Cooper’s doing as he is mining for taydenite, which is apparently abundant on the planet, but there isn’t too much evidence to that. Other races could be doing the same. If there’s no life but plenty of resources, I’d imagine some interstellar law would allow the mining of such a planet. In one reality, this could have somehow led to the discovery or evolution of the Gems from Steven Universe. They do exactly this, mine other planets rich in rock and crystal. So far it’s only been revealed that they do this solely to reproduce. This is how they increase their numbers. Kindergartens are basically mines. But maybe there’s more to it somehow? Like... if they were discovered or created this way in the first place, through an alien race mining a world rich in resources they thought was uninhabited. If so, this would be all they know; to mine. Why do they try to conquer the galaxy? To make more of themselves without running out of room. We do the same thing. A lot of wars in the past were started by one civilisation wanting to expand, probably because they were running out of room in an increasingly-growing population. Or just wanted to explore and found a cool place to settle, but because Gems reproduce by mining for gems, they... mine. I must admit, Homeworld and Mor’ Otesi don’t have to be the same planet. It could just be a coincidence. The universe is a vast space, there could be billions of worlds just like this out there. We might have even discovered one without even knowing. But, you know, it’s just a theory of mine. Had it on my mind for ages and wanted to let it out. Rebecca Sugar created a Taydenite gem would almost confirm it tbh. It’s not a real known crystal, just made up just because but I dunno. EDIT: Okay so I know this would mean very little, if anything at all, but I remembered the guardian of Petropia was called Sugilite. The Sugilite in SU is of course a fusion, not a single entity, but if he did come from another crystalline planet out there (seeing how different he looks to the other people there), could suggest a different evolutionary path. As if the different biology wasn’t enough. I know this is just a name and sugilite is just a real life type of crystal and that my theory sucks *anyway* but eh. Just wanted to throw that out there.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who noticed this…
Nicely done.
