Vilhelm Wohlert (May 27, 1920 - 2007) was a Danish Modernist architect who devoted most of his career to the ever evolving design of the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, north of Copenhagen.
Among Wohlert’s other gems (he did many modern churches) is this guest house, built as an annex (1956-7) to Niels Bohr’s summer cottage in Tisvilde. For this construction Wohlert took inspiration from Bay Area architecture and made a very flexible front end to the guest house which can be opened up and closed off in several combinations and angles. The deck can be out in the open or stay part of the rooms, for instance.
