Love Story... (Vince Dunn)

A/N Sorry anon for taking so long but I hope you enjoy 😊

As I walked into my home, I saw a random post it note on the wall pointing towards the hallway. I took my shoes off, put my bag down and followed the arrow. I looked at the walls and saw even more post it notes pointing towards our room. I walked into the room and saw a box on the bed with a note on top.

I know how much you hate me spending money on you but I saw this and immediately thought of you... I’ll see you tonight at 7 for date night

I picked up the dress that was folded inside the box and ran towards the bathroom to try it on. It was a long red dress and it fit like a glove. I was beyond surprised that it fit so well but smiled at the thought of Vince knowing me, and my body, so well. I returned to our bedroom and grabbed some undergarments that would work under the dress and threw them on before putting the dress on again. I walked back to the washroom and focused on my face. My makeup from earlier today was beginning to cake up slightly so I washed my face and started over. I grabbed my trusty foundation and my favourite sponge and started beating my face. 

I was all prepped, my makeup and hair were done, I had the dress on and I was just waiting for seven to come around. I heard a knock on the front door so I ran over in my heels and opened the door to see Vince all the way down the front steps, leaning against his car. I smiled at him before locking the door and walking down the step. 

“You look amazing.” He said, holding his hand out and leading me around the side of the car into the passengers seat. He ran back around and got into the drivers seat before driving to the restaurant where we had our first date, singing along with the radio. We walked in and saw some really familiar faces. I couldn’t quite put my finger on who they were but my God did they ever look familiar. The host lead us to our table and Vince pulled back one of the chairs for me. I quietly thanked him after sitting down and pulling myself closer to the table. 

“So what’s with all this? Did I forget an anniversary? Is it your birthday?!” I asked, freaking out slightly.

“You didn’t forget anything. I just thought that it would be nice to go out tonight. We can leave if you want?” As he finished him last sentence, he had disappointment woven through his voice. 

“No... I just wasn’t expecting it.” I reached over the table and held his hands. We sat in silence for a second before a waiter came over with a bottle of wine. I leaned back as he poured us both a glass, placed the bottle on the table then left. “That was weird. He didn’t even ask us if we wanted this...” I reached over to pick up the bottle but Vince grabbed my hand before I could get there.

“I wouldn’t worry about it.” I gave him a skeptical look but went along with it. We both picked up our wine glasses and toasted before taking a sip. We talked for a while about our days and other things before I looked down to flip through the menu. However, as i looked down, I realized that there were no menu’s. I furrowed my brows before we saw two people bring plates to our table. I looked over at Vince and smiled, realizing exactly what was going on. The meal that was placed in front of me was the exact same as what I ordered the first time we came here. The wine that we were drinking was what Vince had ordered for the both of us, claiming that he was a wine connoisseur.He had the exact same staff there that night as well. We ate and talked until our plates were clear and the bottle was empty. Needless to say, we were feeling good. We were interrupted one last time when the waiter brought out one last dish. It was a cheesecake with a small dollop of whipped cream and a ring placed gently on top. I didn’t have time to process before seeing Vince on one knee right beside my chair. 

“Y/N L/N. I know that we’ve been through our fair share of ups and downs but you have been my rock for the past four years and I can’t even imagine my life without you anymore. I know that life won’t be the easiest, seeing as my career isn’t ordinary, but I know that I would give it all up for you. I guess what I’m trying to say is... Will you marry me?” He asked, grabbing the ring from my plate and holding it in his hands up to me. I had lost my voice and could only nod my head like a dork and allow the tears to roll down my face. He got up and took my left hand, placing the ring on my finger. I stood up and pulled him into a kiss, our first kiss as an engaged couple, and I could not wait for many, many more to come.
