I really like the art I did this year! I did/made 132 pieces this year. This has beaten my record of 114 from 2020. Considering I work full time and do 100000 other things, I'm super proud of myself. It's like 1 art per every 3 days. I struggled choosing a piece for certain months because there were so many I really liked.

I used a lot more references and forced myself to colour more and tried different poses. I also tried New Styles (like 4 times but whatever)

I would like to return to more digital art in 2024. But I want to continue as I'm doing now. Maybe do backgrounds again, lamao.

Under Different Circumstances

Fatherhood III

 Vincent sighed with relief when he finally stepped into the foyer of his home. A business trip to Chicago, followed by a layover and delay in Toronto had taken him away for the week. Even though he had to be in at work the following day, he was glad to be back.

 He toed of his shoes and left his luggage and briefcase by the door, before stepping inside. The house was quiet, but the lights in the kitchen were on. He went straight for the kitchen, hoping to scourge a quick snack – too tired to even start thinking about making anything elaborate. Instead, he was surprised to find Jean-Pierre sitting at the kitchen table, reading the paper.

 The sight flooded him with immediate warmth and he couldn’t help the fond smile.

 “Hey you,” Vincent walked over to his boyfriend and circled an arm around his shoulders, before placing a kiss to Jean-Pierre’s cheek that startled him out of his reading.

 “Hey, sorry – didn’t hear you come in.” Jean-Pierre put the newspaper down and pushed back his reading glasses. “How was your trip?” He leaned back and reached out for Vincent’s hand.

 “Business as usual. How were things over here with Adrian?”He asked, taking a seat on Jean-Pierre’s lap.

 “We both survived. He was civil, but I think we’re both glad you’re home. One week was enough. You keep the balance.” Jean-Pierre joked, rubbing Vincent’s back.

 “Well, that’s all I asked for. Is he home?”

 “He’s in his room. He finished his homework and he asked if he could listen to some music before bed. I know it’s late, but he wanted to wait for you.”

 “I’ll go see him and then you can tell me all about your week.”

 “Sounds like a plan.”

 Vincent stood up and pecked Jean-Pierre’s lips, before heading up to Adrian’s room.

 “Believe it or not, it’s good to be home.” Vincent said. He sat back on the couch and leaned into Jean-Pierre’s chest. He felt full and content, now that he had eaten and seen his son.

 “And we’re glad you’re back. Adrian and I can tolerate each other for a few days, but more than that and – well, I’m also glad you’re back.”

 “Are you sure he was okay with you?”

 Even after all this time, Adrian still didn’t like Jean-Pierre and would sometimes lash out at him. More often than not, Adrian avoided interacting with Jean-Pierre, but Vincent had had no choice to leave them together.

 “Don’t worry about it; he behaved.”

 Vincent sighed and slumped against him. “If you say so.”

 “I do.”

 “Are you leaving tonight or do I get you to myself for a bit?”

 “I figured I could stay for the weekend. That way, it gives you a chance to settle in and we can spend some time together.”

 “You’re staying?” Vincent asked, voice full of hope.  

 Jean-Pierre nodded. “Believe it or not, I missed you too.”

 “You’re the best.”

 Jean-Pierre laughed. “Or maybe, I’m just selfish and I want to spend some time with my boyfriend.”

 “That’s fine too. I kinda wanna spend some time with mine as well.” He grinned, before pulling him down for a kiss.
