I could go on about them forever .. i think their relationship can have slight differences depending on the iteration of eggman/robotnik but this'll be a general idea of how i view them ^_^

also I'm not a writer of any kind so please take pity on me this is my first long tumblr post

I believe them to be mutually obsessed with each other, both showing their love their own way. Vincent shows it through his devotion, obedience and (as much as i hate the love language stuff) acts of service. I mentioned this once but he's extremely dedicated to his work and place in the Empire, to the point that he'd go out of his way to get hurt/killed if it meant the same for the enemy (again, there's a reason he doesn't always accompany Eggman during his missions LOOL).

He's definitely more of a listener than a talker, which is why they fit perfectly together. The Doctor has the tendency to rant or monologue to his beloved while working on something with the man sitting on his lap, nodding.

Speaking of affection.. Eggman's the only person that gets to see Vincent's eyes without his glasses and vice versa, he considers them something sacred, not meant to be seen by others (aka hes a posessive freak LOL)(Though the reflective glasses also help Vincent with avoiding/having to keep eye contact)(Same goes for bare hands .. gulp).

The Doctor and Vincent started off as boss and employee (and still are) cause im a sucker for that trope hehe.. (+ older/younger man and height/size difference .. h hh)

Despite them being married for god knows how long, Vincent still gets mildly flustered at his husband's flirtatious remarks (projecting)

Vincent's love for his husband's work runs deep. He wishes to have (at least) a part of him be carefully crafted by the Doctor's skilled hands.. He hates how "delicate and human" his body is, that's why in one of my AU's (or satAM/Archie maybe 👀) he willingly got his arm amputated by his beloved to have a robotic prosthetic instead (matching!!). I had a bit on my rp acc about him possibly injecting himself with the metal virus from IDW to, just for a second, feel like a machine. Thankfully this would take place in the early development of the virus, which wouldn't have any lasting effects on him.

Adding to what i just said, he feels very parental towards the badniks (except Eggman's usual lackeys (Orbot n' Cubot, Scratch n' Grounder .. etc..) he sees them as co-workers rather than children). He doesn't want to play favorites but he definitely shows the most affection to Metal and Sage (i think he'd love A.D.A.M. and M from archie too) (the relationship between Vincent and Metal Sonic is a whole can of worms I dont want to explain in this already long post 😭).

Vincent is the biggest hater in the world LMAO he pretty much hates every one of Sonic's friends (including Sonic himself as well as other mobians). He thinks they're full of themselves, laughably gullible and unable to properly run things (which is why his husband should rule over the world instead, a-duh!).

there are also some sexual elements to their relationship, but i dont think ill go into that on here ^^;;

there's something so attractive about robo-robotnik .. . the man rejected human flesh and built himself a near indestructible metal vessel that'll last way longer than the human lifespan.. a fully robotic body with the only thing human being his consciousness .and i cant finish writing this
