🕸 1. Who’s the oldest character of yours that you still use?
Stan and Cid. At this point, I can’t really remember which one of them came first coz I drew them both at the same time while looking after my kid in the hospital while she had dengue. This was back in 2009. They’re gonna be 10yrs old next year!
🎨 6. When creating a character, do you come up with the visual concept or the written concept first?
It depends. Sometimes the art comes first (like these dorks) and while drawing I can already see their personalities developing. Sometimes, it’s the other way around. While writing a story, a character comes up, maybe he’s needed for the plot/story (like Nate), his design came up later.
🎵 13. Do you create playlists for your characters?
Not consciously. lol. I hear songs that remind me of them and I’m like… Hmm. That’s so them. And then I go over to Samiraku and annoy her with my new found discovery. XD
🌻 15. Which character is your guilty pleasure?
Cid. It used to be Stan. I drew him all the time. Now it’s Cid. Though he’s harder to draw it’s always nice. Like that steady rock you can always fall back on. (Though with the way he’s always lying there doing nothing, he’s lazier than a rock.)
🎬 20. Do you ever plan to do anything (comic, animation, etc) with your characters? Or are you just happy to have them?
I did comics of them for a long time on dA. And also some short stories if you remember. hehe. I want to resume the comics but I’m thinking of a way to revamp the story coz it was kind of rooted in religious themes and I sort of don’t want to be boxed into that. It’s one of the reasons I haven’t kept the comic going. I ran into a big roadblock. XD
But if I just say, fuck it and keep going regardless of the theme, I could probably do that too. I may need to consult some friends on that. But expect some answers soon as I am gonna start it up again along with another comic that’s about family shenanigans.
