Nearly done. Just need to add in the back fastening on the bra part and do deets on the bolero. I wasn't going to bother making a matching skirt because I rather like the mismatch look, but in going with silver for her bra, I don't so much like the way it clashes with the gold in her skirt belt so I'll prolly eventually make something to match. I thought it would be fine since there's gold in the bolero, but eh. The straight sale (bra + bolero) set will be done similar, not exact obviously, but I like the way this looks so I don't mind repeating it, just with different embellishments. I still need to finish her belt, but tiny beads and coin embellishments are done. Plus puffy pants. I like how it's turned out. For some reason, this version of Coraelle is a lot easier to design for and dress than her Soom Haidi version. Maybe it's because her Hope Grumpus face has so much more personality? It's not that the Fairy Legend Haidi face was lacking expression, but I definitely did the right thing by changing her headmold because I can "see" her in this doll, whereas I was having trouble seeing her in the other one. Usually once I find a headmold that works for a character, it never gets changed because that headmold forever becomes them (I guess this is why all of my character dolls are forever what they are and I'm one of the few peeps who haven't upgraded or whatnot my dolls over the years. Jun is forever a Chiwoo/now also Chalco, Fuan and Fanuel forever Els, Jenova forever the Volks old F29, so on and so forth), but in Coraelle's case, her Haidi version just never quite stuck with me and now I guess I know why. A Doll a Week 10/52 (only 6 more by the end of the month to get caught up post flu. I can do this *determined*) ... The pool that was built for Ati'yya has water running through it that's connected to the sea (she is a salt water fish after all). One day, a remnant got curious and followed the plumbing lines in. She was only a portion of the Northwestern sea, not the ocean's full elemental being, but as it is with the rest of the connected seas, she immediately delighted to find a siren at the end of the line and decided to remain, despite the constant current pull trying to sweep her back into her wider self. She takes form to both keep from being pushed out and to play with Ati'yya, as she often fancies to do, and when Ati'yya is out with her mate (whom Coraelle dislikes greatly, thank you very much), she passes her time by playing with the various shiny jewels and adornments of Ati'yya's that remind her of the pretty glass that often washes through her when she's rejoined with her full self. To show her thanks, she rewards Ati'yya with small gifts of shells she wills her currents to push in, and while much to the annoyance of the siren's owner when those same jewels or shiny things come up missing from time to time, Ati'yya is always delighted to find a new shell or pretty bit of coral in the missing jewelry's place... ... Dear glob do I adore this version of Coraelle, not only is she easy to dress, she's super easy to photograph as well, which is something I always had a problem with when it came to her Haidi self. Without the sleeves. I have to note too that because of the scale and the sheer amount by of embellishments on the chosen dupatta, I had to hand sew almost all of the vest, sleeves and the matching belt.
