Led Zeppelin: Presence (180 gram vinyl, gatefold sleeve, Atlantic, 2015). Marinating my ears in the sonic delights of Led Zeppelin's seventh studio album. Released on 31 March 1976, shipping gold on the day of its release in the UK whilst in the US it entered at No.2 on the Billboard Pop Albums Chart and peaked at No.1 the following week. Despite this, Presence was the lowest-selling studio album by the band while active, seemingly overshadowed by the release of the band's movie and soundtrack The Song Remains the Same. Personally I love this album. My go to tracks have to be the musical marathon that is Achilles Last Stand and Nobody's Fault but Mine. Rod Stewart: Sailing/Stone Cold Sober (45 vinyl, Warner Bros, 1975) ▪ ▪ Rod is going to be sailing on some stormy waters forever more given the condition of this 45. ▪ This copy was given to me by my dad. Although he fueled my love of music, encouraged me when studying music & then later audio engineering, his capacity to look after vinyl is questionable to say the least. ▪ Anyway I decided it's time to clean this up and give it a spin. Surprisingly it's not too bad sounding. The Rolling Stones: Sticky Fingers (180 gram vinyl, Rolling Stones Records, 2015) ▪ ▪ Released 23 April 1971, Sticky Fingers is the ninth studio album from The Rolling Stones. ▪ ▪ Mostly recorded using The Rolling Stones' mobile studio unit at Mick Jagger's Hampshire manor house Stargroves, the album hit No.1 on the British charts in May of '71 for four weeks and again for one week in June of that year. ▪ ▪ This particular pressing is the 2015 reissue which used the remastered recordings from 2009 and it sounds glorious.
