Vio and Blue in the “This is our get-along t-shirt”
Okay, so I was mentally microwaving Shadow, (as one does,) when I reached kind of an epiphany about Green/Vio/Shadow and what makes the ship so interesting. I'll be honest, this ship has never really been my favorite, and so I hadn't given it much thought before BUT
My angst-loving brain did come up with this:
Part of the reason vidow works so well is cause these are the two characters who personally hurt the other the most. Vio (outside from Vaati&Ganon who's emotional harm to Shadow we don't really know much about) is the one to hurt Shadow the most, and Shadow in turn causes Vio the most pain as well.
Now, after Shadow, who's the second-most affected by Vio's actions? Who faces the stress and fear and maybe actual physical injury from Vio turning evil? Green.
You see where I'm going with this? >:)
Not to mention, Shadow doesn't really love Green cause Shadow equates Green with Link, and he's determined to be anything but Link. So there's lots of tension there, too. More on that here.
The angst potentials with this ship I SWEARRRRRR
Whatever you do, don't imagine Vio staying up late thinking about the others’ scars. Don’t think about Green getting a scar from his duel on death mountain. Don’t think about Shadow ending up with a scar across his stomach from when the links blasted him with light. Don’t imagine Vio laying between them, looking at the scars he made on their bodies, feeling horrible.
Idk if you already did it but could you do Vio for the asking game?
I have not done him yet! Thanks for participating @melwn! I really appreciate it :D
1: Gay. 2: Vidow (I mean. do you SEE the content I reblog) 3: Honestly all of the links have such great friendships with him. His relationships, whether they are romantic or platonic, are very tropey. His personality is kind of built to be the opposite of each of the other links, so we see lots of great dynamics. (Emotional & apathetic, team-player & secretive, brawns vs brains.) 4: I’m not huge fan of him and Green, but I could be swayed on that. 5: He has some sort of magical mark from joining the dark side. (For example, a magical tattoo that can’t be removed, no matter what he does.) 6: Literally the whole Green v.s. Vio fight. 7: We’re both bookworms and have a very small social battery. 8: Let’s just say we’re both very good at messing up friendships, and emotions are not our forte. 9: It’s Vio. The pretentious purple asshole himself. (Problematic fave)

Something I would have added to the FS+ manga
As much as I love the four swords manga, it has some...er...plot holes
*cough cough shrine maidens cough cough*
But, I think I have an idea on how to fix that.
After Shadow is murdered by the Links, and they escape with Vio, they go to the Shrine of the Four Sword, where they see the shrine maidens, despite not having rescued them all yet.
What if, after they rescue Vio, they use the information he learned which, in canon, doesn't ever really become useful... and save the shrine maidens.
This would:
1) Make Vio's spy arc actually useful
2) Gets rid of the shrine maiden plot hole
3) Draws the book out more and gives angst writers some more Shadow vs the links fights
4) Gives Shadow's redemption arc more time to develop
5) Could give us some more Shadow & Zelda interactions
Then, when Zelda is shown at the fight with Ganon, she uses her light magic or something similar to call the other maidens to her aid, and seal Ganon away.
Are we just going to ignore how Shadow shapeshifted to look like Vio?
I mean, I could just be reading into this too much, (very likely) and this might not make a lot of sense, (also very likely) but if we were to think of this logically, why in the world would Shadow shapeshift into Vio?
Now, generally, people say that it’s because Shadow thinks he knows Vio the best. But, if you were stabbed in the back by your best and only friend, would you really trust everything they said? I mean, being betrayed hurts. We’ve already seen that Shadow didn’t have any friends besides Vio. He hasn’t dealt with this kind of heartbreak, so he’s extra vulnerable. If I was in his situation, I would feel like I didn’t know that person at all.
I think that Shadow choosing to shape-shift into Vio is him choosing to accept what happened, and more importantly, choosing to forgive Vio. I think he’s saying ‘I accept that you lied to me that one time, but I’m choosing to believe that we were actually friends. I’m willing to believe that not everything you said to me was a lie. I’m willing to think that our friendship was real, and you only lied to me when absolutely necessary.’
He had the Dark Mirror. He knew the other Links’ personalities. He had other options.
