The ball is just as beautiful and entertaining as it is exhausting after several hours, and Ashe is glad to get a moment of respite as he retreats off to the side with a glass of cool water. When he finds a spot to rest and enjoy his drink, he bumps into Ignatz, likely here for the same reason.
Ashe greets the bespectacled Deer with a bright smile and a nod of his head, remembering almost in the last minute that he probably should not wave at him while holding a glass full of water. Fun though it can be, he is... very out of his element in this whole social noble stuff, and if he were to take a guess, he would imagine Ignatz might feel similar. Even if, naturally, Ashe hopes that the greenhead isn't uncomfortable or something of that nature. The ball should, hopefully, be a joy for everyone.
So, he decides to inquire with some small talk.
"How is the ball treating you, Ignatz?" He speaks out after taking a sip of his water. "It can be a little tiring, can't it? I don't know about you, but I'm not used to such huge groups and so much noise all the time... But it's still fun. I hope you're enjoying yourself, too."
He lets out a sheepish chuckle, before gesturing with his head towards the tables with the food and drinks. "If you need a refresher, the water they have here is great, both still and sparkling. Really helps recover the energy."
Ignatz was getting a glass of water when he saw Ashe. "Oh... hello Ashe." He greeted, giving a slight wave with his free hand. "The ball has been fun so far, though I am observing from the sidelines." Ignatz never was the type to enjoy events like these, and he was relieved to find another who also felt out of place.
"Though I have met some rather... intresting... people." Ignatz thinks of that new student... was his name Gray... who approached him and made some rather odd remarks about his sketches. "But I'm sure my father will be glad that I am making potential connections that could help his business." Ignatz internally flinched when he mentioned his father. The two had never had the best relationship, but Ignatz was going to the Academy for his sake, not his own.
Taking a sip of his water, Ignatz glanced at his ring, reminded of the purpose of the ball. “Oh, do you still need a stamp? My card’s full but I would be happy to give you one.”
