Appearance

Sans is a skeleton with a few gold modifications made to his body to reinforce bones that were damaged by Undyne. He dislikes shirts and opts to wear a tattered edgy blue and red hoodie zipped open with red edgy pants and a black gold studied belt. His most obvious body modification is the two gold horns on his skull he also has red and yellow eyes instead of blue. His eye lights are mismatched now due to his consumption of Monsters. His teeth were sharpened and capped in gold, his ecto is Red with flecks of yellow. He usually wears a predatory expression, and although it may be hard to believe he once looked much like Classic Sans.

Personality

Sans is originally much like the Classic version of himself, but after seeing his brother murdered,  and his psyche breaking as a result of consuming monsters he becomes insanely unstable with severe violent tendencies. He usually puts on a polite front till he gets his target relaxed then he immediately switches to a sadomasocist reveling in their shock an example of this being when Frisk sees them behead a Monster beside them offering it to them as a dead dog. He has a morbid sense of humor, and his gentle side only shows to those closest to him. He does have an appreciation for art and he actually enjoys body modification although originally he began it because after his actions he didn't want to recognize himself in the mirror.

Neutral Route

He will show up as Frisk leaves the Ruins with Papyrus to warn them that their being watched before disappearing. Then he shows up again to have dinner with Frisk at Grillby's where he suddenly threatens them about Grizelda. Later its revealed that he set all the traps that nearly killed them and as they walk he decapitates a Monster offering it to them. If Frisk kills a Monster Sans will shurg before asking if they ate it, and offer to help if they intend to kill Fate.

Judgement

If Frisk has not killed a single Monster a fight shortly ensues but can be defused. However if they have killed Papyrus, or hurt Grizelda he won't stop till he's killed them or killed by them.

True Pacifist Route

Sans won't understand why their being so nice to everyone especially the gaurd. He will repeatedly try to kill them out of confusion at their actions. By the end a fight ensues and if you keep dodging and reminding him of who he was he eventually softens. He'll help you fight Fate and save Grizelda, afterwards claiming your stuck with them now. On the surface the monsters begin to share their knowledge with humans and in the Epilogue Sans has become a tattoo artist. However it's a cover because he's actually a hitman for hire, and he particularly enjoys targeting criminals. He no longer eats monsters but has to continue to take Venom to ease his mental illness he's developed.

History

Sans like Gaster lost their parents to the war as Skeleton Monsters were some of the first on the battle field. He is no more than a teen when their sent Underground and he like Classic greatly missed the Stars. He was highly intelligent like his brother, and he even was apart of the designs for the CORE. After Fate enters the Underground however, Sans saw him as he truly was, a lying murder. He argues with Gaster on whether they should even be helping him given what Sans sees in him. After the Snowdin expedition Sans feels justified in his beliefs, and is overjoyed when Gaster sees the truth about Fate. He fully supports his brothers love and he begins to love living in Snowdin. When he finds out after doing a routine exam on Grizelda that she's pregnant he cries in joy that he's gonna be an Uncle. When Griz suddenly goes wild and runs off he chases her and sees Gaster die at the hands of the guard. He like Grizelda flies into a rage attacking them until they retreat. Despite the pain he tries to be there for Griz, the pair never have the same level of relationship she had with his brother but they do become like siblings. So much so when he sees her pain in eating monsters he begins eating them with her. It becomes an addictive taste, as does the feeling of fighting. However this greatly begins effecting his magic and his psyche as he has a mental breakdown. He goes on killing sprees developing a sadistic streak tormenting the criminals he finds, and finding joy if they manage to hurt him. One day he takes things too far and attacks Undynes father the previous captain before Fate in the middle of Waterfall. He has a long fight, but wins killing the soldier with his own spear before putting his dusting head on the pike. Undyne attacks him for this, and still weak from the fight he'd just finished can't do much to stop her attacks. She nearly kills him, but before she can land a final blow Griz shows up attacking her giving the citizens of Snowdin time to practically scrape him up and run. He finds out that every citizen donated their gold to Grillby so a cast could be made to fix his bones which were so shattered magic did little to help them physically. This was a wake up call that made him see he had 'issues' and asked Grizelda to give him Venom doses as the Venom has natural properties that cause a relaxing high. He found pride in his new appearance realizing he didn't want to to be the same person he once was anymore he did several body modifications to look how he felt inside. He'd unintentionally earned the name 'The Excutioner' from the many monsters underground even being called a 'Devil' at times. He decides to focus the majority of his hatred on Fate, and swears to end the pain he brings to those around him. Sans is initially distrustful of Frisk because of what happened to his parents, but tries in the beginning because of Papyrus liking them. While ultimately their actions determines how he feels in the end, he does see a lot of himself in Frisk. He believes this may be part of why his darker side wants to corrupt them into the same type of person he's become. Violent and Unpredictable.
