Date: May 30 The Wilkes’ garden party Closed starter for @violetwilkes.
Formerly Rodolphus was not above scheduling his work hours perfectly in line with the social events - meaning that he just happened to have to be working whenever a soiree was hosted. What a strange coincidence it was. His regards and sincerest apologies would be sent to the person hosting, alongside a promise that he would make sure to attend the next event they hosted. That he always made sure of, always enough to please the hostess because that time around he had actually showed up and how nice it was to have him. Dynamics shifted, connections changed and means and ends differed throughout the years, though. It meant that Rodolphus made sure to clear his schedule at Tuesday May 30 the moment that he received the invitation. Upon arrival at the Wilkes manor he made sure to seek out Violet Wilkes - but not after getting himself a glass of Firewhiskey, incredibly out of character for him. Champagne was served as well, but that was too much for him. He did not wish to end up looking like someone who drunk too much, after all. He found Violet easy enough and joined her as they watched some of the other guests for a couple of seconds. “Miss Wilkes,” he greeted then, a hint of a grin lingering on his lips. “I was hoping I would catch you. The gardens look lovely. I’m certain everyone that had the honour to be invited will be discussing this event for days to come.” He was sure Violet knew of the event that was directly the day after her family’s garden party and he also thought she would quite like it if people spoke about her event at Narcissa’s twenty-first birthday. “It seems that just about everyone is now aware of our conversation during Beltane,” he said, referring to the Witch Weekly at the beginning of that month mentioning it. “Almost as though they knew some of what we discussed. I rather thought that the views you had to offer were quite insightful.” It was rare to find someone like-minded, never mind hear the words spoken aloud, but she had and here he was. “But I don’t think we got the chance to finish it. So if you could spare a minute, I’d be interested in hearing more.”
