Proposing “violet bisexual” as an alternative to “febfem”.

Febfem is a radfem term with transphobic meaning. I wanted to still be able to have a label for myself to show that I’m a bisexual sapphic that does not date men. I chose “violet bisexual” because violets are used to symbolize sapphic love. Since “violet bisexuals” would focus on sapphic love, sapphic relationships (romantic and/or sexual), etc. I felt it would perfect. Being a violet bisexual is about sapphism, focus on women/non-men, exclusion of men, and empowerment while still accepting and loving our bisexuality.

Some notes:

bi men/bi achilleans would not be allowed to use this term. “violet bisexual” would be/is a term that stemmed from myself and other bi sapphics not wanting to date men because of male trauma, misogyny, and the patriarchy.

bi lesbians this term is not for you!!!

this term is also not for radfems or terfs!! you have “febfem”.

asexual and aromantic bisexuals and biromantic can use this term! it isn’t just about sapphic love. for instance, if you don’t do romantic relationships but still would like to have a sexual life that excludes men you can use this term.

any bi sapphic who doesn’t date men due to ANY reason can use this term. this includes, but is not limited to: not dating men due to

-trauma

-experiences

-wanting to decenter men in your life

-having a preference for women

-just not wanting to date men

I think radical feminism as in "radfem" is bad but I think it's good to have a few radical feminist opinions. And if women/non-men/afabs want to say "I hate men" or choose to not date them I think we should let them.

That's fine! Just make sure to credit me! I mainly didn't make it in the 40/20/40 ratio because I thought making it that way would give the false impression the label is for men too.
