I have mad respect for Violet Bloomig.

Over the course of the story she found the strenght to learn to stand up for herself and to draw and enforce her boundries. She found her place in the world and became confide to not only take it but to also stand there with pride.

She stood her ground when her mother offered her apologies for how she always put Lawrance and his desires above Violet's needs and promised to do better. A lot of people would have folded in her place but she became strong enough to not know her worth and to no longer cut herself down just to please people who have never bothered to truly see her.
