andrew never really liked those small mixer parties - the very same where he first starts to talk to constantin. he felt they were kind of lowbrow and that the enjoyment was much too fleeting, but elias probably loved to go to them to cool off/slack off so he kind of just goes with him by default.
after meeting constantin he becomes a little more willing to go to these events but he makes it a point after about the second or third time to invite her out someplace a little nicer - a night drive or a stroll through a park or a walk along the boardwalk
andrew has never really cared much for the prostitutes/dancers and the side business his father makes of them. he was never in outright opposition but he thought it was demeaning and a little gross - the thought of sharing the same girl with the any average joe who could cough up a few bucks, you know?
as such, andrew has a bit of revulsion for what constantin does, but he never condemns her. he figures, if he likes her, being a dancer has made her into the girl he's met, and he should accept that as part of her identity. but that, among other factors, makes him hesitant to ever sleep with her, and in fact, they never do get into bed together.
he thinks that she is worth much more than she thinks, or that the people around her think. she's sexy and cunning and has incredible wit, albeit kind of crude. he likes it though - she's a breath of fresh air. besides, the mafia business is a bit of a sausage fest and her pretty face is greatly appreciated. he tries to be gentlemanly around her, show her that he's not singularly interested in getting her into bed - trying to take it slow
they only kiss once (maybe twice?), and their very chaste kisses, compared to what constantin might be used to. andrew also does his fair share of hand kisses but those don't really count, i guess.
there's a night where andrew is skulking about - he hasn't really got a thing to do and there's isn't any other place he'd necessarily like to be - there's a commotion with the dancers and the customers. a drunkard is getting unduly rough with a group of the girls, including constantin, and andrew just happens to be close enough to intervene, but not before the asshole pushes "bambi" into a table.
andrew gives him a good beating - hooray for chivalry - and then offers his hand to constantin, although a little embarrassed because he hadn't been planning to be found out, and now it seems very suspect of him to have shown up out of nowhere to save her
she's bleeding a little bit from her palm, so andrew gives her his favorite handkerchief.
he never asks for it back, and he hopes, even after he says they can never be together, that she keeps it and knows someone once loved her proper.
