Violet King was a Canadian lawyer. She was the first Black Canadian to recieve a law degree from the U of A, the first Black person admitted to the Bar in Alberta (1954), and the first Black woman to become a lawyer in Canada.

Her grandparents moved to Alberta in 1911 from Oklahoma. One year later the Canadian government limited Black immigrants to the prairies to 1000 per year.

King taught piano lessons to support herself through university. She belonged to a women’s group that met to discuss politics and history called the Blue Stocking Club. During university she was VP of the Students’ Union.

In 1959 her brother, Ted King (also pictured) unsuccessfully challenged a Calgary motel’s discriminatory policies. Violet King became a criminal lawyer. During her articling year she worked on five murder trials (that’s a lot).

She eventually moved to Ottawa to work for the department of Citizenship and Immigration where she remained for seven years.

In 1963 she moved to the United States to work for the YMCA. While there she married Godfrey C. Henry with whom she had one child, Jo-Anne Henry.

She was posthumously inducted into the National YMCA Hall of Fame in 1998, sixteen years after she passed away from cancer.

What are your kings power?

He is extremely powerful in pissing off everyboooo *ouch*Our King has the same power level like the other Kings, so there is not much difference here. He prefer medium distance attacks. If you want know about something special, King could switch powers every clan’s members.For clarifying, if some member of the Red Clan really gets on ours King nerves, he could just changes this member power to green (for example) and watches in silence how this Red deal with it. It is a lot of easier to defeat someone in that kind of situation because it takes an opponent some time before he recognizes what happened.

Battle of Frozen Kingdom

Was a battle waged upon the Frozen Kingdom, by the Violet Army, in order to access the Fountain of Youth. Causes The Violet King wanted to live forever and the only way was to bathe and eat the fruits in the Fountain of Youth, located beyond the Frozen Hills. The Violet King was infuriated by the Iceling rejection, causing him to wage war on the kingdom. Points The Violet Army was able to penetrate and make its way through the city but was unable to carry on through the Frozen Hills. Many of the soldiers froze in their sleep or while marching. In a rage, the Violet Army turned back and under the order of the accompanying ageing Violet King, destroyed what remained of the city. The Iceling Riverfolk and Shorefolk arrived just in time to finish off the Violet Army outside the kingdom gates. The Violet King was slain by a Riverfolk Army guard. Outcome The Iceling kin slowly rebuilt the city closer to the frozen wilderlands.
